We also need to make free throws. We took the lead in Starkville last year with 4:32 to go. From that point, both teams had 6 free throw attempts. Alabama had 6 free throw makes. State had 0 free throw makes.

Those sidewalk fans don’t even know bama has a basketball team. Only the real fans who actually attended Alabama know about the basketball team.

8pm on a week day is tough for many people. The game won't be over till after 10. For folks coming from the Jackson or Memphis metros that gets you home after midnight. I'm not big into MSU fans putting tickets for sale for this one. That usually just results in a lot of local Bammers from Columbus in the building. They will be home by 10:30.

Wish there was a way for alumni or whatever to release tickets free to students or something. Students are key to games like this having a good atmosphere. Of course we know this won't work, because our blue hairs will complain about a streak of cheese on the ground, or will be trying to make money off the tickets.

ETA: Sorry @HailStout just noticed you had already suggested this.

Bama beat KY, Ole Miss beat Bama, KY beat us, and we beat Ole Miss. I think we get this one.

Is there another team in our conference that has as many "must win games" and "biggest game of the season as we seem to?

Is this one even close to a sellout? Flying to Jackson today, LFG
There are about a dozen sections showing tickets available. In those there probably an average of maybe 10-15 available in each, all upper deck and mostly in the end or curve sections obviously.

I think we feel it more because of our damn schedule. To have the season we want (and are good enough to have), we really need to finish at or above .500 in the league. The schedule was so front end loaded that we lost a couple early, including one at home, which led to pressure to stay above water. If we go 1-1 this week, we are still in very good shape and I think the pressure will release a little at the back end.

A team like OM wasn't having "must win" games early, because they played LSU, Arky, UGA, won those fairly handily as expected, and there was no pressure. Looks like that's changing now though.

Of course, all that is fine until we lose 1 or 2 we're not supposed to... then every game is back to do or die.

We also need Hubbard to break out of his 3-point shooting slump. When he's on, the entire offense is SO much better.

The last 5 games are going to be easier outside of @ Alabama. Oklahoma, @ Alabama, LSU, Texas, @Arkansas. But before that, buckle up.
