We have to make some changes to be competitive again. We were there once and can get back again.

Cowbells need to go. No ring responsibly, just be done with them. Watching a home game on TV is awful. You think Gameday is ever going to come back? Nope. We ***** and moan about the Vandy Whistler...the cowbells are just as annoying, if not more. You know I'm right. We ring those bells when were honoring people on the field during timeouts and you can't even hear whats going on. Its embarrassing. Not that we're worthy of any sort of primetime game, but I promise you ESPN/ABC thinks about that stuff. For the casual fan tuning in, its painful. If you guys prefer 11am games then we should keep them.

Davis Wade sucks. The north endzone is fantastic. Keep it, tear down the rest. Our front row is so far away from the field we will never have an atmosphere like a big time program. Watching on TV sometimes the first row of the fans is not even in the camera shot. I sit in the 200 level on the west side. Without really doing some research I'd be willing to bet the front row of the 200 level is further away than most seats in the upper deck at Neyland, or most other stadium upper decks. I was just at the super dome in the 500 level...that was so much closer to the action than our 200 level. I'd even be willing to bet the 40th row in the lower level is as far away from the field as some seats in the upper decks at other stadiums. You architect dogs can probably pull slopes and angles and **** easier than I ever could.

All of our lower levels are awful. You guys know what I'm talking about so I wont go into details. Lets just redo them both.

Whatever it takes...tear down the entire west side and redo it. Build that **** full of luxury seating, club level, etc but put that thing on top of the field. I don't know why, but it drives me crazy seeing how far away our seats are from the field. While we rebuild one side, everyone can sit on the other. Theres plenty of room. Then do the other side next. We need a tight *** stadium thats on top of the field. 50-55k is plenty. Finish bowling in the south endzone. That hotel idea would be awesome. Just like the Lofts at Dudy Noble.

2 humungous video boards are stupid. Maybe it was cool in 2008? If some seats weren't so far away from the field those wouldn't be needed. We could have a reasonable sized board in every corner.

NIL - someone has to step up and get creative. The university needs to get creative. They are the ones with the money. I know Tenn charges and extra $10 on their tickets that go to their NIL. We need to figure out something similar. We will always have a core that buys tickets whether they go or not. Figure out what our break even costs are on game day operations and then the rest of our ticket sales go to NIL. So if a ticket is $100 and $50 of that is the break even costs.....$50 goes to the NIL. Its not gonna work with Bill from Noxapater auto drafting $25 a month.

I just want to be competitive again and at least have a fun game day atmosphere. This is an investment, but they have the money.

I take it if you win the Powerball you are going to donate every dime to MSU athletics. By the way, your stadium suggestion is comical. It would be cheaper to build a new one. Also, we DO NOT have anywhere close to that amount of money.

Tear down the stadium except for the south endzone. So we just have an endzone for students for 2 seasons and take away ALL atmosphere? That’s smart.

I will give him this: the lower levels do suck. Scott Field should have been completely razed in the 80s rather than just plopping an upper deck on the West Side. But....too late now.

Let's take all the money "they" have for these changes and put all of it into NIL. Win some big games and everything else will take care of itself.

Big video boards suck. 1/3 the current size would be plenty big.
I like the big boards, especially the south one. They're certainly better than the Sony Jumbotron low-def one we had for years. Last time I was at Tuscaloosa, they had 4 smaller ones in the corners, but they were too small to tell what was going on unless you happened to be pretty close to them.

The first few rows are certainly not that great. I suppose the field could be lowered a few feet and add a 0-level seating that's closer to the field, Indian burial grounds notwithstanding. But face it - unless you have seats between the 30s, the view's not going to be great in any stadium.

Cowbells.... yeah I'm sure they annoy opposing fans. I had an UT fan ask me this weekend if State allows everyone to have one. Long convo but my counter point was that they have twice the fans and they play music until our center is over the ball. Same thing.

the stadium.... yes. The west side needs to be demo and rebuilt to something more modern with all the revenue producing amenities. "We can't afford that". We can't afford not to. You will lose fans and lose money not having luxury seating on the home side. Also Oregon st and Memphis can afford to demo an entire side of a stadium.

As for NIl, again start construction now on additional luxury seating options in order to fund State excellence.

I'm 100% certain the cowbells impact our game times and viewership. Do we want to be big boys or do we like ringing our bells?

Glad yall agree with me on everything else. Stadium is terrible.

how does one arrive at such certainty? Our game times and viewership were fine when we were better and trended to really good when Dak was here and we were making national noise. Nobody wants to see bad football and networks know that. They couldn't care less about the cowbells. In fact, they always make it a point to talk about the unique tradition and give it some love.

Out of all that, the only thing that matters is NIL, as far as winning. All the cowbell talk, stadium talk is just fans. None of that stuff matters when it comes to putting together a good roster now. All that matters is NIL.

You sir, should be beat with a cowbell. If there’s anything to hang our hat on about football it’s cowbells. Even when we suck we can ring them and have a part in the game. Supporting cowbells is like supporting the second amendment. Cold dead hands and all.
