I know the MN player was standing at the back of the endzone in case a return was possible, but could he have theoretically blocked the kick? If a player could jump high enough, couldn't he get a hand on a ball that was just barely going to make it over the cross-bar?
USC showed some interest for Love initially out of high school but did not pull the trigger. They actually took his backup as a walk-on instead. John’s brother is a rising senior at Spartanburg now. He hit 3 field goals this past year of 50+, breaking his older brothers record. He has visited all the major SEC schools already. Hopefully, USC doesn’t let him get out of the state too.
Max Kelley is who you are thinking about. He is 5 star in the kicking ratings but they do kickers different than regular players. He is one of the top kickers in the country and rated 5 star by the kicking ratings like Kohls.
The Va. Tech kicker is my cousin from Spartanburg. Great young man who aspires to be a doctor. The HC calls him Dr. Love.
His younger brother kicks for Spartanburg....Will Love, who set a record this year of 54 yards. He is a junior this year. Great kicker with great academics like his brother. Getting lots of contact. Not sure about USC.
