This also gives me alot of hope that Cohen may ony take 2 years to turn us around. Georgia and LSU didnt even make the Tourney last year, yet had spectacular seasons.

Yea I think Georgia had almost as bad of a record last year as we did this year, but I don't see us doing as well as Georgia next year. I think 2 years is possible though.

Well Cohen might be able to do something next year if he can actually keep his players healthy. I will say this about this year, that was the worst amount of injuries to the entire team that I have ever heard of for baseball. Our entire pitching rotation changed like 4 times through the year due to injuries.

I'm hopeful that he can turn it around pretty quickly to, just because of the nature of baseball and the fact that we are still only one season removed from the CWS. For once, we didn't allow a program to become a complete steaming pile of crap before we made a change.

I think Butch has his work cut out for him, but our pitching will likely improve with some coaching and some proper training and management, which I do not believe was going on under McNickle, be that ice, or whatever.

I also think that Cohen and Burroughs will improve our offense, and if nothing else, stealing and bunting more will help us to stay out of double plays.

Our fundamentals need to be overhauled as well. We made WAY too many stupid mistakes last year.

Next year I expect us to be in a Regional, which I think is easier to make than the SEC tournament now a days, so basically a ninth place finish with 30 wins should not be unattainable for next year. After that, I will expect A LOT more.

had a good shortstop since M. Manescalco(sp). It seems like year after year we had guys playing out of position. There are so many ways to improve our team, I think we will be much better next year. Maybe if we have guys learning new positions in the future it will be because they are to good at the plate to sit on the bench. That would sure be a nice change. I can't wait for next season for the first time in years.

Bunky. (Sarcasm).

But I do agree. I think that the previous staff was hoping that Russ Sneed would step up, since they always claimed that he was "our best athlete on the team". Jet is below average to bad on defense, and Ryan Powers probably would have won the job outright except that he can't hit. I'm hoping that Cohen and Burroughs can make him halfway decent.

I also don't think it's a coincidence that Cohen's first signee was a middle infielder who pitched a little bit.</p>
