how to differentiate between the conference as a whole being weak vs. the idea of any given team being weak, do you? I have yet to see anyone say UGA or LSU were weak. What many have said was that the conference as a whole was weak this season. I'm not saying whether or not I agree with that sentiment, but it is easy to understand the difference.

The SEC was not down this season
Then why did it only have 2 teams host regionals and only 2 teams win regionals?
Hell, LSU was in 7th place halfway through the SEC schedule
Since when did they start keeping up with where teams were half-way through the season?

keeping such an obscure stat could help Coach34 try to lend credence to his inane and mind-numbing positions.

Since when did they start keeping up with where teams were half-way through the season?
After all, everyone knows that where you are half way through the season is really the best measure of what kind of team you are. That is why MSU won the SEC West in football in 99.

the head to head over the last 11 years is an eye opener. I'd would've sworn that "year in and year out" the SEC has been the stronger baseball conference, especially since 1990. I guess not though.

its killing you assclowns to see Georgia and LSU win in the series. SEC teams have been beating up on each other and thats why only 2 hosted- yet 9 teams made the field of 64. NINE. Teams that cant finish in our top 8 make the NCAA Tourney due to the strength of the conference. Quit whining. You arent going to win this one

I suspect if you looked at it in the early to mid 90's, the SEC would have been much more competitive with the PAC-10.

if we had the records from the 70s and 80s the SEC would come up woefully short.

Let's ask C34 which time period is appropriate to use. I'm guessing he would prefer June 08 - June 08

So how come SEC teams beating up on each other always resulted in 3 or more hosts every single year since the tournament expanded to 64 until this year? Nobody has ever said the SEC was weak. It's still one of the best leagues out there even in a down year. BTW, I see you're ignoring my post earlier this afternoon proving that the PAC-10 is not only a better league, but it's consistently been better for the last decade or so.

to be a fan of one of those incredibly weak *** SEC teams that did its part to bring down the expectations for UGA and LSU. we're just here to help! and may I say also how much I look forward to not hearing ******** excuses from the head coach any more.

Or maybe not. The SEC is 1-1 vs. the PAC 10 this month (Arizona beat Kentucky to go with Georgia's win over Stanford). Also, Stanford beat Arkansas on May 31. </p>

I'm rooting for LSU and UGA. Their performance at the CWS doesn't change the fact that the SEC as a whole was down this year. You bringing up the fact that LSU was the 7th place team halfway through the season doesn't point to the supposed strength of the conference but rather the fact that LSU sucked early in the season. They then got hot and ran off 23 in a row.
