acknowledge college baseball in any way? I understand it's a promo to sell tickets on their part, but it looks to me that the M-Braves compete with MSU baseball at least on some level for players and fans' dollars, no?

I'd be surprised if you could find 10 people that at any point during the year have to decide whether or not they are going to an MBraves game based on whether or not state is playing.

As for competing for players, I don't see that either. Those decisions are way too far removed from the minor league arena.

Its far more worth it to the MBraves to try and sell some more tickets.

They can use the promotion to appeal large segment of people who would have an incentive to come in groups, have a good time, and buy tickets again in the future. There is no direct competition between the two, so it's a win-win. It's the same as corporate discount nights at games in other places.

the M-Braves working with college baseball benefits them because some of the largest attended games at Trustmark Park are the ones that involve the college teams. Plus the seasons don't overlap that much. The colleges have from Feb. to April all to themselves and the M-Braves have most of June to August for themselves.

Of course the colleges get a cut from the games, and the games in Pearl are likely to be attended by more people than a typical on-campus game.
