Hopefully this is just us keeping our cards close to the vest, unless of course you are pumped up for another year of Hunter Washington and Albert Reese.

All three of our starting wideouts are 6 foot or under.

Lots of "OR's" on the defensive side of the ball tells me nobody's distinguished themselves.

But hey, our punter has been killing it in camp so there's that.
Yikes

Great, even more yards for our defense to give up.

Reese is the best OL we got
Was I crazy thinking we had somebody else that people felt ok about at LT? I thought there was talk about Reese actually being a swing player and possibly the first off the bench. Obviously State football has been pretty depressing so I'm not sure if I haven't been paying attention, or if I've been hallucinating to make myself feel better, or if other people have been halucinating to make themselves feel better, but I whichever it was, I was encouraged by the thought of us improving to the point that Reese would not be a starter.

Calling that a depth chart is generous. OR OR OR OR OR.
I feel like that's pretty common practice for the first game. Combination of not showing what you have and keeping players feeling like they are still competing for a spot until they show it in games.

That said, I'm more concerned about not even knowing what the hell the positions are anymore. I assume that's just me being out of touch, but hell, maybe that's why we couldn't seem to even get lined up correctly last year.

If I showed you this depth chart in 2012, you’d look at all the fourth and fifth year players and assume our floor was 7 or 8 wins with a ceiling of 10 wins.

A 6' QB throwing to a 6' or shorter receiver means he's either going to have to get outside the pocket or there's going to be a Moses-like parting of the Red Sea in the middle of the line. Otherwise the trajectory of that throw is going to mean a lot of batted balls.

It's a 3-4 defense. The named positions are the linebackers.

I don't know how good those linemen can block but they sure will be able to take up space.

Exactly, Mason Miller said he was an nfl O lineman. Miller is a great coach, of course Arnett and Brad Peterson fired him their first day on the job.

In the name of all that is good and holy, get over it already man. Our coach died, crap happened, none of it went well. We get it and everyone has moved on from it. You should too.

Regarding Reese, I don’t think he’s bad by any means but to my knowledge he’s always been a right tackle or guard, so him being moved to LT catches some attention.

Reese at G is fine. Reese at LT is a huge red flag when your QB is injury prone. It also explains why Shapen has been running for his life in camp.

That’s because it means zilch to be a 4th or 5th year player when its your 3rd or 4th school.

And in the SEC, 4th or 5th year player simply means “not good enough to get drafted”, except for QB position in certain cases.

We all can see the program got nuked. You are seemingly the only one still litigating things that happened in 2022 and 2023 though.

Reeses development as a lineman was affected by the garbage coaching he got after the firing of Mason Miller by Arnett and Peterson, that is very relevant.

if my post hurts your e feelings, move on and go on to the next post

2022 we went 9-4, hope this helps

Why ? He has played some tackle already and he is huge
Because he was abused at RT last year in SEC games.

But again, I'm going to go with this depth chart meaning actually nothing. As someone else pointed out, there was a WR listed as a starter last year who only played in one game.

Biggest thing that jumps out to me is we have a lot more bodies competing for playing time at most positions than we had last year but we still don't have hardly any difference makers at any position. Hopefully we have a few that surprise us in a very positive way.

He played RG last year. RT in 23. I wasnt aware they gave the Kent Hull Trophy to guys who cant block. One of us is confused. But anyway I think this OL will be much improved this year.

Saw at lunch where Kentucky is starting a 7th year senior.
