Week 8 of the Weekly Review for the 2023-24 season.
A good bit of movement, but not in all rankings. Davis and Kasak appeared for the 1st time in some rankings, and moved up a good bit in other rankings, and are still not included in other rankings. PSU having so few duals, and the hesitancy to rank true freshmen early in the season by some ranking services, seem to explain that inconsistency. Mesenbrink also moved up a good bit in some rankings, but stayed about the same in others. @SetonHallPirate's Dual Impact Index is getting closer to reality (as if that exists in rankings), as several top PSU wrestlers made their initial appearance in the Dual Impact Index (as they had enough matches).
A reminder that: 1) different services treat freshman (RS or True) differently at the beginning of the season, 2) different services rank a differing number of prospects per weight class, and 3) computer generated rankings (Dual Impact Index and WrestleStat) usually are off a good bit at the beginning of the season.
I'll post a reply indicating that the Review is fully updated when all of the rankings have been posted.
