Beamer out one out this morning. Solomon also tweeted out a pic of Cola with the caption “shock the world” as well. Would be huge to land him. Lord knows we need him!!
Really good news!! Beamer is relentless. He ain’t sticking his head in the sand. That's actually good news! Glad the weekend wasn't a total bust.
Hearing similar comments from QB Ryan Montgomery after his Saturday visit in another post.Quotes from Solomon:
"I’m not trying to go to a Georgia or Alabama. I want to help a team rebuild and get where they need to go. I feel like South Carolina is that school for me and I can come in and make a big impact for that program on day one."
"Coach Beamer’s making South Carolina the best place for all of his players. I wouldn’t want to play for any other coach than him.”
Stop it guys. We're not going to sign any top players. Nobody wants to come here. All of them are going to Bama/UGA. And if they fill up, the top recruits will simply pay their way just for the opportunity to say they played at Bama/UGA and avoid USC. Or at least that's what I hear around here.Hearing similar comments from QB Ryan Montgomery after his Saturday visit in another post.
This is positive as well.
DE Kameryn Fountain of Atlanta spent the weekend in Columbia after taking in the USC-Florida game at Williams-Brice Stadium. As Gamecock coach Shane Beamer said after the game, his defense had issues carrying through on the pressure calls, and Fountain said he noticed that. Thus, he realizes Beamer and defensive ends coach Sterling Lucas have true need for a player like him.
“It was a whole bunch of good vibes to get into,” Fountain said. “It was better than some of the ones that I’ve taken. It was just the environment. I talked to a whole bunch of coaches; I think half of the position coaches. Coach Beamer was like he needed me up there. He needs some edge rushers. And coach Lucas said he needs some edge rushers.”
“Honestly it puts them very high,” Fountain said. “Very high in my consideration. They’re up there of course with the school I’m committed with. Florida State is also up there.”
I see all the quotes....and is it just me or does anyone else notice I never see "Coach White was so awesome to sit down and talk to. Love that guy! Can't wait to play for him!". I think a part of it might be that Beamer is so involved in recruiting. If he's the primary relationship then if we lose an assistant we stand a better chance of keeping them. But it's just kind of strange to see very little comments about White from defensive recruits.More comments from Soloman
“What stood out the most about South Carolina to me is their development with all their players and how they aren’t scared at all to play their freshmen,”
They see me as a lockdown corner and they see me playing as a true freshman,” Solomon said.
“I love coach Beamer and the whole staff,” Solomon said. “Feels like home soon as I step foot in Columbia.”
Great minds think alike. lol I was thinking the exact same think as I was posting these quotes - never see his name mentioned.I see all the quotes....and is it just me or does anyone else notice I never see "Coach White was so awesome to sit down and talk to. Shhh...don't tell him!!Good get but relying on true freshmen to come in and contribute immediately is a tough way to turn things around for any program.
I don't really understand the "development" comment. Three years in and the team really doesn't look any better than year one on defense.
