This ain’t new. College football has been heading this way for years. It has been all about money for decades. Penn State joined the BIG in 1994 for no other reason than the money.

Players finally have leverage with the portal, NIL, etc., and good for them. Their earning power can end instantly with a significant injury.

Sure, It is more difficult for the coaches to navigate. But largely they are all earning two comma salaries to figure it out.
