both of our STAR PLAYERS go undrafted...which brings me to my perpetual internal struggle with Stansbury's coaching/recruiting ability. Is he actually a pretty good coach, seeing how is obviously isnt playing with the same cards as others? What should we expect? I mean Kansas had 4 players drafted, gah. You have to ask yourself what Stans could do with that. Is he actually not that great at talent evaluation? These "stud recruits" we get consistently cant make it to the NBA. I am sure I will go back to hating Stans at some point during next season, because some things we do, particularly on offense, really make you scratch your head...but at least for now - I have to think he actually might be doing as well as he can with what he has. Who knows.

There is no form of schizophrenia equal to my feelings towards Stansbury.

you can be a great college player but just not be an NBA player. I can compile a list a mile long of great college players whose games just didn't translate to the NBA. Lawrence Roberts was a 1st team All-American and he'll probably never get much run in the NBA. Corliss Williamson was POY in college and a career role player in the NBA. That's just how it goes sometimes. A lot of the guys who got drafted high will be career role players or won't last past one contract in the league.

their own players with so many 1-year freshman going pro.... and also the international players getting drafted.

something is not right when they take someone like Water Sharpe and other players.

The flip question to that is whether he just doesn't develop players as well as some other coaches.

I don't personally think that's the case, although i doubt he's the best around at making players better but I don't think he's so much worse than the average coach either. I mean, he did recruit Sharpe - imagine how good we could have been if Walter had his head screwed on even halfway straight.

I think all the issues we saw with Jamont were seen by the GM's as well and while he does have the NBA body and athleticism, most of these guys would rather spend their 2nd round pick on someone with "upside" vs what they see as Jamont's max ability which is honestly probably a reserve guard. I'm sure his cell phone is burning up right now with guys wanting him to sign as a free agent to be placed in the summer and "see what he can do".

Skipping that draft camp was a big mistake
