Beamer said offensive linemen Jakai Moore and Aaryn Parks are dealing with injuries and will not be recovered by the first game. According to Beamer, Parks rolled his ankle and will be out for a while. Beamer said he's optimistic about a midseason return for Parks, who transferred to South Carolina from Oklahoma this spring.

Moore missed both scrimmages this preseason but Beamer didn't specify his injury Thursday. Moore played 11 games for South Carolina last year, starting in nine.

"He is going to be out for a little while," Beamer said. "We'll see how long term that will be shortly."

Still in better shape than last season so the overreaction is a bit overkill.
You can’t blame any longtime gamecock fan for being gunshy. And for Beamer to actually say “out for a while”….. I’m gonna take that as season-ending (there; that’s my overreaction).
Only two OL injuries - maybe we can overcome as long as more don’t stack up.

I concur on Beamer actually saying "out for a while". He tends to string us along on return dates from injuries, so for him to say that up front doesn't seem promising.

And, yeah, it's only 2 OL injuries, but with how last season started, you can't help but have the "here we go again" feeling with injuries. Parks, at least, was a potential starter.

Hopefully we get Moore back. That said, our OL is looking to be much improved this year. We've got size, experience, depth, and loads of competition.
