Almost wish we could stop time and hang on to being undefeated and in first place a little longer. I guess you can tell I'm not at all confident about our chances. Hope I'm dead wrong.
Ain’t happening guys. LSU is a suck fest, but they have more talent from A-Z and a seasoned coach
Objectively, we eked out a win against a mediocre Sunbelt team and then beat a highly overrated Kentucky team that absolutely self-destructed in a game where we got basically all the breaks.
What I hate the most is I fear we are being set up to be thoroughly embarrassed
Such is life as a Gamecocks fan. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
When will we believe that we can win? I have been a Gamecocks fan since 1980 and l had my heart broken many times, but l keep believing that one day we will break through. I believe our time is now, l speak it in existence. We will win tomorrow and start the season 3-0 believe it!!!!!
I only watched the 4th qtr of the Ky game live (was busy outside earlier). I watched the replay on Sunday or Monday.
What I saw was us beat a mediocre-to-bad Ky team that couldn’t get out of their own way. We can’t run. We can’t pass. If LSU self-destructs at an epic level (similar to Ky), we will have a chance. Otherwise we will have to play unlike we have played thus far this season.
Factor in - as noted above - that in the life of a gamecock fan, this all (College Gameday, pundits talking us up) sets up for failure of an epic proportion.
Here’s hoping this is all proven to be dead wrong by tomorrow this time! .

The important question is what does the Madden game tell us about our chances?
You have nothing on me. I've been a fan since November 1963. Went to my first game when my pee wee football coaches took us to Columbia to watch South Carolina play Tulane. You know, Tulane came into that game with a 17-game losing streak. They beat us 20-7 that afternoon. Should I have taken a hint on that day? I hope we schedule Tulane again. I want revenge before I die.
The offense took a step forward last week. They need to take a leap forward this week to give us a chance. I think Beamer will roll the dice in this game with some trick plays and going for some 4th downs. If so, and we convert some, we could have a chance. It’s a lot to ask.
I think it's very likely we'll have to try something unconventional at some point. Fake punt or fake FG, that sort of thing.
Talent on talent, it's hard to see us matching up in this one.
I did not expect to win. As a long-time Carolina fan, I should be used to these kinds of disappointments. But, SPOILER ALERT to young Carolina fans: it still is a downer.
