Let me know your Yuku likes and dislikes. See if there is anything I can help with.

Likes:
-Like the user interface. It is easier and simpler to insert pictures, links, make text enhancements, etc.
-Like having the links to the CL, the DJ, & the MSU site at the top.
-Like the overall functionality & user interface a bit better.

Dislikes:
-I still regularly have to refresh the page when I first log on because I get random pages from the past show up. For example, when I got on the page last Thursday, I was seeing posts from the beginning of May at the top of the page, all marked as new posts.
-I still have trouble posting about 50% of the time. What I mean is that the formatting toolbar doesn't show up about half the time. If the toolbar isn't there, I can't post. I have to just keep refreshing the page until the toolbar appears.

*Edit to add that I have to use I.E. here at work as my browser and I imagine that part of my problems/dislikes stem from Bill Gates company.

but it still drives me crazy that I have to hit refresh almost every time I get to the board (or click to view a thread) to make sure that it is up to date. Just now, even though it is 8:50 a.m., when I got to the board, the first post had a time stamp of something like 3:15 a.m., meaning that posts from the last five and a half hours weren't showing up.

except the fact that I have to hot refresh a bunch of times to post.

I don't know what can be done about it, though.</p>

...and I agree with cowtown's likes. I don't have any of the other problems that others have mentioned. I guess my only dislike would be the more frequent downtime and maintenance that goes along with it.

etc. I dislike it going to the thread, not the main page when you post. I also dislike how sometimes when you hit back, it goes where you were on the page, and sometimes it takes you to the very top of the board.

will have in FB, it only shows up the first 2 posts. I hit back and there are like 5 or 6 in the thread. I hit refresh then click again and still only the first 2 posts show up. I also think it's annoying to have to hit refresh all the time. I liked the old version much better.

The main thing is how tied are y'all to the view we have currently. Most of us love this view (threaded) and don't want topic like BDJ.com. I think the problems will be sorted out in the near future - I hope. If we do go somewhere new, everyone will have to sign up again as well. I unfortunately have not found another message board system that has the view we use.

Also, try firefox because it seems they tailored the development towards that.

when new posts are made. So i'm stuck in between.

also, you can't click on a post in the middle of a thread and see all the replies to that.

I use firefox and don't get any of the issues being reported by others. I also don't get very many popups.

if any of your have the refresh problem, Yuku support's current workaround while they look to fix it is to press Ctrl + F5 at the same time. This does a hard refresh.

issues:

1) I click to read a particular reply and it marks the entire thread as read

2) Sometimes the message board loads from stale cache

3) no automatic-recognition of hyperlinks. I can't simply paste a URL here and have it hyperlink. Instead I have to make it link with the GUI or with code.

I use firefox with it and have no trouble at all with anything on it.

I guess the only thing I dont like is the maintenance downtime but hell ezboard did that too.

it does auto link in quick reply but nothing else. I never understood why they designed it so.

The one problem I do have is when people post wide images in a thread, the whole thread bleeds over into the advertisement on the right side of the page, which is a pain in the ***. Also, although I can paste in a hyperlink, I can't name it anything other than the IRL and I can't post images directly in the post, although I can post a hyperlink to the images. Of course, that might just be because I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

Things I really like are the threaded view with new posts being bumped to the top. I can't stand the view the BDJ uses, which is probably the biggest reason I never go over there. I also really like the links to the Veazey's and Ellis's blogs. Or at least when they work I like them (I know that's another I.E. issue).

My only problem is with the new tags and refreshing the page. The last 2 days when I hit the back button in Firefox, the page refreshes about half the time and I get an occasional message telling me that the page I'm going to contains post data blah, blah. In IE I still must manual refresh each time and I still get new tags on post I have already viewed in both.

To name a link something, the way I do it is to type out what I want the link to be named, then I highlight it with my cursor and then click the hyperlink button in the toolbar above the reply window (looks like 3 joined chainlinks) Paste the link into the window that pops up & click OK. That should do it. If you still don't understand, I will post a picture how to.

As for images, it is a pain, but the "easiest" way to post images directly into your posts is to save the image to your computer and then upload them into "my images" in your Yuku profile. Then you simply click the "insert image" button in the toolbar and pick the image you want from your Yuku profile.</p>

I never use the toolbar, but I guess I'll start now for hyperlinks. Dawgstudent, you can add the roundabout way you have to post images to my list of dislikes.

with the new yuku is that it has caused what seems to be a drop in the amount of users and posts on this site. I have heard several say that they can't access it at work because it is banned. I liked the old version much better because there was a lot more going on. There was lots of information to be found and many hilarious posts i.e. Derek Dunn and the Clemson baseball player. I also enjoyed the A.O.T.D. because it helped in the light-heartedness of this board compared to the always proper sunny Gene's page approach. I also liked the fact that you could post swear words or whatever and the consequences would only be that you had a bunch of people destroy you in a thread. I don't know if these suggestions help any but it is my opinion that the change to yuku has not been to bad but the change in what is allowed to be posted has been the biggest difference.

thread, when you hit the back button it takes you to the top of the 6 Pack Board instead of down the page where the thread is that you just read, but not all of the time. Otherwise, no problems
