I wish I could be more optimistic. But it’s a rough schedule in a transition year with basically all unknowns on defense. I look forward to the opportunity to change my mind after the Florida game. Florida could be a pretty good team with only 4-5 wins this year.

Georgia & Texas should be better than everyone else. 3 thru 7 maybe 8 are somewhat even and 10-15 are also.

Just running through the helmet schedule, it is clear that some have far easier paths than others. I think Georgia is the best team but their schedule is ROUGH. At Bama, at Texas, at Ole Miss. I don’t think they come out of that unblemished. On the other hand, you can look at the schedules for LSU and Texas and not have to stretch to find a path to 12-0.

I don’t trust the Ole Miss or Mizzou hype yet. It’s one thing to maneuver your way to 10-2 when you’re still flying under the radar to most on the national scene, it’s another to manage the weight of expectations. I have 9-3 and no playoff for both.

Tennessee and A&M both have playoff chances, in my opinion.

I don’t love Bama’s schedule and think the “year after Saban” effect may get them this year. I think DeBoer is a great coach that’s maybe never gonna be appreciated by that bunch. I see 9-3 or maybe 8-4.

I think we get to 6-6.
