The women’s team is 6-1-6? What a stupid record. The “draw” is the dumbest outcome ever. You mean you can’t decide a winner with a simple penalty kick format in the regular season? Dumb. You either win or you lose.
A tie is not definitive outcome and should not exist in any competition. The women’s team is 6-1-6? What a stupid record. The “draw” is the dumbest outcome ever. You mean you can’t decide a winner with a simple penalty kick format in the regular season? Dumb. You either win or you lose.
Actually it's not dumb. Draws are a perfectly reasonable result. A soccer game is 90 minutes long. If the score is tied at the end, I see no reason why it has to continue to have a winner. The women’s team is 6-1-6? What a stupid record. The “draw” is the dumbest outcome ever. Requiring penalty kicks to determine a winner would work without continuing the game.Actually it's not dumb. Draws are a perfectly reasonable result. A soccer game is 90 minutes long. If the score is tied at the end, I see no reason why it has to continue to have a winner.
That would be like basketball abandoning its OT rules and just going with a free throw contest though. When soccer does require extra time, its an actual extra time period followed by PKs. I'd be okay with golden goal though.Requiring penalty kicks to determine a winner would work without continuing the game.
It’s just as entertaining if you have a straight win/loss record. Why have points? A draw is such a dumb outcome in sports. Just my opinion! In soccer it is as much about the season as it is an individual game. the single point you get for a tie and limiting another team to a point can help a lot with the final standings in the league. it makes the epl a fun league to watch because it is entertaining to see what the teams at the bottom do at the end of the season as much as the top teams. if they structured the format of the sec that way with a top and bottom group with relegation and promotions every year then it would make it a lot more interesting for all schools. If they then took the top two or three schools from the top conferences to the championship tournament then it would make it even better.
