What a relief for us that Tolu Smith is no longer on the team…

You put him in this team and it would have the potential to go very deep into March. The offense wouldn't have to run through him.

The offense would run through tolu. We would just watch him shoot free throws as our offense.

When he came out ready to play he was very good. Some nights he was not impressive at all. I do not understand why every game somebody has to bring Tolu into it. He ain't here. He has no eligibility. The team is still winning. And yeah, what team drafted the iconic center ?

So you think we don’t have that potential without him? Lots of speculation in that take…

Supposedly Tolu was playing through an injury just year. To me he was a lot better the previous year so I buy the story.

We are deep in the perimeter and have guys there putting out max effort in D and rebounds. And most can make free throws as well as a few shots here and there.

We will wear many teams down by the end of the game.

Last years team didn’t have guards that can create shots. Hubbard was still green and there was no other guard on that team that could go out there and do what these guys are capable of every night. The offense wouldn’t have to run through Tolu.
I think it still would have ran through him assuming we paid the same that we did last year for Tolu.

I think that Murphy has a chance to have a really good season and replicate most of what Tolu did. It's what comes after Keyshawn that should worry us all

If Nwoko could somehow give us what Abdul Ado did in rim protection and rebounding we’ll be much better off than trying to replicate what Tolu gave us.

If he was on this roster teams wouldn’t be able to double team him so much like they did last season. If they did these guards would make them pay with open shots or cutting to the paint on the double team for a layup.
I'm assuming Tolu was never 💯 percent last year. There were times he had the ball under the basket and he could have easily dunked but he would miss a layup. I'm assuming that his foot was a factor that slowed him down. That's what I want to believe anyway.

Gotta love that the SPS tradition of being free to **** all over our good players, even after they're long gone, remains alive and well.

I actually mean that. It is a good thing. Love freedom of speech. And I say that freely to all you miserable SOBs who love to **** on guys who would humiliate you if you said it to their face (from a ladder).

Hubbard might have been “green” at this time last year, but he still was / is as good as it gets at the college level as far as being a guard that can create shots….but he was the only one. Multiple options now, which is nice. It ran through Tolu and Hubbard last year because there was no Plan C.

I don’t know how much it was or wasn’t bothering him. But I doubt his foot was 100% at any time last season. Anyone know where he is now? He was a good Bulldog & I hope he does well.

Hubbard is at another level this season. He had a tremendous offseason and got bigger and stronger. He played like a freshman at times last season so yes he was green.
