What an ill-fated season it was. Pivotal off-season looming.

Never really improved from Game 1 to Game 12. Had some spurts where it looked like we might play better, but as one unit would play better, another unit would regress. Back and forth it went all season.

Offense was worse this season.

Defense was worse this season.

Special teams was worse this season.

Beamer has some big staff changes to mull over this offseason. If you haven't noticed, next season's schedule is a meat grinder. 5 wins might be the ceiling. And that's with 4 presumed cream puff games.

All of this was expected. Carolina was very lucky to accomplish what we did last season and we were due a step back this season. That said, we didn't show a damn pulse from game 1 to game 12 this year. Completely forgettable in all aspects. Wasted a great QB with shite at ever other position. Don't even half watch the games any more because it's amateur hour. Looking at you Beamer. And Tanner.

Fix it next year or pound sand. Both of you.

That’s the thing about this year. Game 1 to Game 12, no improvement whatsoever. This staff could not figure a way to fix any one of our many problems. Just one. Yeah, yeah, I know, injuries. Big deal. That’s life. Figure it out. That’s why you get paid 6 and 7 figure salaries.

Was it? Did a single poster here predict five wins?

I've said it elsewhere, we really need to pin a thread at the top of the forum with our Preseason predictions.

It helps eliminate revisionist history.
I predicted a 4-5 win season if we lost to UNC.

However, not a person here predicted just how bad we would be. We regressed from last year on offense, defense and special teams.

Anyone except the sunshine pumping idiots could see this was due. Look at the road games - which ones would we be favorites in? Maybe UNC? Luckily we got a dose of that week 1 to "reset" expectations. Lost a bummer to UF then got lucky to beat UK. A wash. Never a threat away from home.

That's just looking at matchups. Our starting RB played at Setzler Field last year. Our Best WR played like 9 snaps. Our OLine is a hodgepodge of homeless people picked up at a bus stop bench.

This season was bound to fail. And that's not even accounting for the 6/7 figure morons orchestrating it all.

I'm not disagreeing too vehemently, but I don't recall a lot of people calling for failing to make a bowl.

I recall saying something very familiar, but it was contingent on that UNC game.

I guess my comment is that a lot of people talk about seeing this coming AFTER it happens, not before.

Defense did show some improvement but never reached the level of being one we could count on to stop a good offense.
I've never seen an OL line as bad as this one - even taking injuries into consideration. Don't understand how you can recruit an OLineman who cannot block the man in front of him at least a minimum of half the offensive plays. Incoming OL class looks good on paper, but I hope they can perform right out of the gate.

Fr line players usually need some time to physically develop. Better get some experienced guys in the portal as well. Need all the help we can get.

Don't really expect an improvement in wins and losses next year. We have talent coming in but they are young and will take time.
I expect some improvement in 25 and again in 26 just not in 24.

Given the new portal reality, I don't think it's reliable to project talent for next year, much less two years away.

I don’t know if the O was worse. My assumption is the UT game skewed things quite a bit last year.

O might have been worse, but I am not willing to blame it all on Loggains. It is tough to call things that work when you have no running game. Becomes even more difficult when you can’t pass protection either. To make matters worse, we had a case of the dropsies last night to compound our already glaring issues.

Teasley needs to be replaced. Hardesty needs to be looked at. White, even though the D looked better the last two games , needs to be replaced.

Long term, this season may be a blessing. Beamer went from media darling to struggling. I get all of the attention he was getting was good for the program, but you wonder if it became a distraction.

Yes, White must be a foregone conclusion. Hardesty has had time to prove himself but our run game is still non-existent. Teasley was a questionable hire at best. Would we have even considered him for the job if he wasn’t already in the building? No. I know there were injuries, but we had arguably the worst OL in all of FBS. Just can’t risk it going forward.

Yet they changed the defensive scheme and it improved…..

I don’t know how much it improved. It was most notable against Vandy, but their offense sucks. I’m not taking a game or two at the end of the season as progress.

What concerns me about Beamer is that his hires have been underwhelming. Cases in point: his recent OC and OL hires. Was he not given the money to make better hires? Or were they his top choices?

Money was not an issue, those were his guys he wanted.
