I shake my head at people talking about the market for a guy like this being a few hundred thousand. I promise you that the bidding for a second year 5* QB starts with 7 figures, and for him to shut things down after his first visit, it would not surprise me at all if he got something in the $1.5 - $2.5M range from Auburn

The schools around us are pumping tens of millions into recruiting every year, and they’re running laps around us. Maybe one day we’ll wake up, but Selmon and Lebby sure seem to be enjoying their naps at the moment

Wake up??? You think they can just choose to come up with NIL money we don't have? Some of yall need a dose of reality. In this era we are going to have to win the way the Oakland As did in the Moneyball times. It can be done, just look at what Pitt coach did last year. However, several posts on here are equivalent to asking someone on welfare why they don't just go buy a Lamborghini.

The day State wakes up will be the day State realizes this state is only good for 1 FBS program. So will it be State or will it be Ole Miss. The amount of money available to the chosen one will decide!

Arnold isn't anything special, I'm not sure why people are even worried about him. The plan til he whole time was for Shapen to be the QB. We just want to flip FR QBs and ours wanted out.

I'm sure they showed him the $, and told him if he did not sign then, they were going to next guy... immediately.

No time for games, at that point.

I would submit, the Right Rev showed him OL clips of 2024 and ask him if he wanted to play behind that?

We were never getting Gabriel, he was going somewhere to play for a natty and Hiesman.

Once Levee realized the barn was after Arnold, he should have focused on MVB.
Exactly. If you believe in MVB, running it back with him and Shapen is fine. If you don’t or if you just think a guy like Arnold is the better QB for the asking price, that’s fine too.

What you can’t do is whiff on both, though. I’m going to go ahead and spoil it for everyone, but we’re gonna head into next season with Shapen, a true freshman, and a “value” transfer QB. In other words, we’ll be banking on Shapen staying healthy

100% and Shapen isn't healthy enough to go through spring practice. Hopefully the true freshman a Jan enrollee.
