What game are you circling for 2023?

For me, it's Mizzou. They have replaced UK as the "how do we keep losing to these guys?" team on our schedule. Last year I had UK circled, for the aforementioned reason. A&M was a close second since we had never beaten them and it had overall been an ugly series for us. But UK was just that game last season that you gotta win. If you can't reliably beat UK, you're not going anywhere. Since we beat UK, they have now been replaced by Missouri. We just have to beat them this year. They are on a 4-game streak against us. With the schedule change in 2024, I do not want to end our brief annual series against them with them holding a 5-peat. On top of that, we have last year's dismal, miserable performance.

Of course I want to win them all. But there are certain games you can lose and not feel bad or surprised about. Nobody's going to weep if we lose to UGA. No I don't want to take a step back vs UK. I don't want the A&M game to look like a fluke. But we gotta end the skid against Missouri. A 5 game skid against them is unacceptable. Even Vandy is only on a 3-game skid against them after last season.

Losing to those guys is particularly vexing. I'd be abundantly pleased if we wax them in October.

Good choice for this thread.

UK today isn't the UK of 10 years ago. Stoops has made them into a legitimately competitive team. Losing to Missouri is only slightly less shameful than losing to Vandy.

Yes, he has transformed them from a bottom-tier SEC team to a solid middle of the conference team. Nevertheless, losing 7 out of 8 them is unacceptable and puts a hard ceiling on what you can accomplish in the SEC. They're much improved but not a team we should be losing 7 of 8 to.

Looking for 9 wins this season. All are important but beating UGA would be great

I agree, OP. We need to beat Missouri. That losing streak to them is embarrassing. Missouri is garbage...it's not like Kentucky where at least they've had a solid football team for most of the past decade.

For me, it is a no brainer - Clemson. The last time we beat them in Columbia was in 2013 i.e. Connor Shaw's final home game. Whooping Clemson this season will be huge because it will signify that last year's win was no fluke and also to give our fans a massive celebration at home. Since Beamer will have lots of 2024 and 2025 high school recruits at this rivalry game, a win will also have an enormous impact in our recruiting influence on these kids as well.

Last year's win against Clemson was no fluke. Even though it was a close game, we made all the big plays in the seconds half to win the game. Looked like the better team both offensively and defensively the whole second half.
