Sure is.....and I think you have to add in Colorado vs Kansas, Ole Miss vs. Florida.
Bears vs. Bucs.........Titans vs. Jaguars......Jets vs. Patriots etc. etc. Talk about meaningless matchups.
Yeah, last nights game on paper was meaningless as well. Until it wasn’t.
having attended every Penn State game this season except West Virginia and Kent State ( oh what a disappointment ) the four that stick out were Illinois, USC, Wisconsin and Ohio State. They were entertaining And for the most part competitive. The rest completely forgettable.
From an extra curricular aspect, the Wisconsin Band and the Purdue Band were two of the best bands Tgar has ever watched. They were both great and watching the Band Director retire at Purdue was a great reminder of what it should be all about. The atmosphere in Camp Randall at night is incredible, maybe the best, and Madison is such a great trip to a place not named Chicago, LA, Minneapolis, or Iowa City ( great college town ).
The Big Ten needs to revise its scheduling mentality and go to a 10 game conference schedule and hope that some of the programs improve to ensure the top teams have a strength of schedule higher that 106 or 38 for that matter.
The players are getting paid, add in another conference game and drop one of the fluff games. The upcoming OOC schedule is embarrassing and it accounts for 25% of the season.
