The game that lets you know if we are going to be bowling this season.

For me, it's Auburn. If we win that to go to 3-0, I see at least a 7-5.

More than likely, we're 2-1 heading to Atlanta. 3-1 leaving Atlanta would be huge with us going to Baton Rouge. I have us at 5-5 going into the Arkansas game and 6-5 going into Oxford.

If we come out of Atlanta at 3-1, then we are set up schedule wise to stay on the plus side of .500 if we win the games we are supposed to win (Vandy, MTSU, UK) going into the stretch run of Bama, Ark, & Ole Miss. We would also only have to win 1 of those last 3 to finish 7-5.

I thought about AU, but I don't really expect to beat Tubberville twice in a row right now.

W's: LA Tech, SE LA, MTSU, UK, Vandy

The only games we don't stand a chance in are LSU & Tennessee.

These are all winnable: AU, @ GT, @Bama, Arkansas, @ Mississippi. The GT game is probably our best shot in those 5. So I say GT is the swing game.

I predict 7-5.

If not for pistolgate, I'd predict 9-3, a Peach Bowl, and another ban on Outback restaurants.

Since 1991 we are 7-10 against Auburn. We have gone to a bowl game in 6 of the 7 years that we beat Auburn. In the 10 years that we lost to Auburn we only went to a bowl game once.

Am I the only one who thinks Arkansas at home ahould be classified as a "should win?" Does everybody call it a toss up just because we never beat Arkansas or because everyone thinks more highly of the hogs than I do?

And, I agree that the swing game is GT.</p>

I bet 9/10 times we beat a really good team we either 1) also have a really good team, or 2) beat enough other teams go get 6. Either way, we get a bowl game. These facts with the Auburn stats mean Auburn is usually a pretty good team. Auburn wasn't great last year and they might not be great this year. So I'm not sure the Auburn game itself means a lot.

You may be right about Auburn, but pretty much every preseason poll has either them or LSU winning the West, and they are typically Top 15 in most polls. Preseason polls don't mean a lot, but it's not like Auburn is expected to have a down year this year. They aren't expected to contend for the national title, but they are supposed to be a good team.

Going 4-0 OOC will be a novelty under Croom, meaning we can lose to AU and LSU, go .500 against the remaining 6 SEC games (think Vandy, UK, and OM/Ark/Bama) and end up 7-5.

Auburn may turn out to be great, but them being picked to win the West is merely because no other teams are a safe bet.

Auburn is beatable with the new system and coaches.
LSU is probable the least beatable because of their D. If RP would have stayed they would be everyone's fav.

No one would dare vote for Ark, Bama (except the bammers), OM, or MSU. For once...in a while, the West is wide open.
