What players will be left for Paris this season?

Now Carter is in portal and that makes 5 plus lost recruit plus Bryant will not be back nor reese. It has been a new player each day and almost seems as if they are doing it to spite the school for how they did Frank. I know people say Frank left the program in better shape than he left it but with the transfer portal, that is not accurate anymore. Paris will have to fill this roster with a ton of other schools cast-offs. Not many great players in portal yet. I hate this for Paris because it is not his fault but the school should have seen doing this was going to destroy the program. Way to go Ray and BOT, you destroyed a program that had a chance. I know Frank wasnt everyones favorite but he had us consistent. He also would have had all these guys back plus GG so its going to be a long year next year. As fans dont blame Paris, blame Ray and BOT. Give Paris a chance to build.

On one hand you're bemoaning the loss of talent from this years team as several players enter the transfer portal, then on the other hand you're labeling
other players entering the portal as cast offs.
I'm not saying this is going to happen here, but with the portal a coach can have a much quicker turnaround then the older method of recruiting.
As I've said in other posts, with a new coach attrition should be expected.

I think the basketball team will see a lot of transfer turnover each year. I just see it as a trend in the sport for teams at that level, not an indictment of the staffs.

This is the norm these days - especially after a coaching change. He’ll grab some guys from the portal to help next year, but is probably recruiting some guys that will serve as the foundation of the program.
Yeah, the portal will fill up with guys from other programs going through coaching changes.

I would kind of prefer a clean start with a new roster for Paris anyway.

I guess we'll see if our coach can work magic like that Iowa St. coach did this year. His situation was every bit as dire.

Well at least he will be playing with his own players and can build it from the start. He has an opportunity to get some guys he wants and start the process day one. Hopefully this means a shorter turn around time and less excuses.

Ridiculous. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Tanner made the move we wanted, but now he and The BOT are to blame for destroying the program, because of transfers??? The program was "destroyed" because Frank Martin wasn't a transcendent coach who could sustain success, or recruit very well.

I saw on Facebook that we signed the top guard in the state awhile ago. Maybe that's the start of something.

As another poster recently pointed out, this is a team that couldn't even make the NIT. Not much to fret about the players who are leaving.

Frank had a chance for 10 years. Granted, some of it might be spiteful on the players' part, but such comes with the territory.

It was time to make a (n overdue) change. As I stated on another thread, I'm glad that Frank landed on his feet in one of the "other Commonwealths."

I feel that this could be a blessing in disguise. The exit of Martin's players will allow Paris to fill the roster with his "own guys" thus enabling him to execute his game plan more seamlessly. It will take time but this is an opportunity for Paris to start off his tenure with a clean slate and add his own pieces to the overall puzzle. Only time will tell if it succeeds or fails.

Good assessment, IMO. As long as there's steady, consistent growth, I can be patient. Hopefully, in 2025, we can reflect back on the progress.

I think the idea of a room full of transfers as one's own guys might be a little fallacious, especially if they come in as short-timers.
