It would appear the offense got a major shot in the arm with the decisions of Wells and Rattler to return for 2023. I'm wondering what the impacts will be for the 2023 offense. It's a bit harder to say with a new OC, but, if I understand things correctly, we'll more or less be running a simplified version of our offense from last year (I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than that).
The million dollar question is: which Rattler will we get? If it's the Rattler from the last 3 games, we'll be in for quite a ride. If it's the Rattler from the first 10 games, well, you know. The onus is on Loggains to show he can unlock Rattler's potential and design an offense that enables him to operate. I saw a stat, can't find it now (maybe I heard it), comparing the number of down field shots we took in our first 10 games versus our final 3. It was a marked difference, and, unsurprisingly, the offense opened up.
I would assume the staff will be more cognizant of getting QB2 some meaningful snaps this year, if we can. Have to find a way to. They did miss some opportunities for that this past season, but, really, there weren't a ton of great chances. My money is on Bailey to emerge as the heir apparent.
