Interesting thought! She's a draw and asset for sure! But how much would someone be willing to put out there for a player for a WBB team - an already net-negative for most (if not all) schools.

She should stay right where she is if she can. WBB is a money losing sport at all but a scant few schools and the WNBA won't pay her 10% of what she is getting now. In fact, she should get her marketing degree and find a job at a big sporting goods company and she will probably make more in the long run than she would playing professional basketball.

She will make her money in endorsements. Nike is starting to sign Female Basketball Players now. Sabrina Ionescu's signature shoe is one of the most worn shoes in the NBA right now. I am sure Caitlin will get hers if she continues on this path. My son has taken on my old habit of being a sneakerhead and keeps me up with what's new. Caitlin already has deals all over the place. She will be fine no matter what she does.

Sabrina's WNBA salary is $205,000 per year. WNBA rookies average around $62,000 per year. Caitlin can make more working FOR Nike than working IN Nikes. Endorsements are great as long as you can keep playing at a high level and I doubt Caitlin will be as dominant on the court playing against the best of the best WBB players as she is playing against college girls on lesser teams.

I am not talking about salary. I am talking endorsement deals. The girls will not get Jordan money, but they won't get chump change either especially if their shoes go off the shelves. Don't think of yourself and what you would wear. I have a 19 year old son. They like colorful shoes that perform well on the basketball court. They don't care if the shoe's endorser is a male or female. Heck, Caitlin just turned down $5 million to give that Big 3 league played in the summertime 10 games. I am watching tournament games for the men and women and Clark is on every other commercial. State Farm, Gatorade, Xfinity. She is not doing that for free and that has nothing to do with her WNBA Salary. I am old enough to remember back in the late 1970's when the NBA wasn't marketable. It's Finals were on Tape Delay. Yes, you had to watch the Magic Johnson playing Forward, Center, and Guard Championship closeout game on Tape Delay. The dynamic of Magic being a marketable Black star and Larry Bird being a marketable White star changed everything for that league. Now, it is part of the American sports viewing culture. I remember when that wasn't really so. Caitlin is one of the best things to happen to the WNBA in a long time. No politics. No talk about LBGTQ at least not yet. Just straight up game. .....and people love it. You know her fans will follow her to the WNBA. Watch them get a bump in ratings next year. No, it won't be the ratings the men get, but you have to start somewhere.

To add. Nike is paying Sabrina Ionescu 24 million dollars in her shoe deal. I can't find any information on the years. However, I'll take 24 million dollars.

Caitlin should negotiate to get some of the gate receipts as she will be a big draw in the WNBA. People who could not see her play in college due to travel and cost (Seattle, Miami, LA) may possibly get to see her when Indiana plays in those major cities on the coasts.

If the WNBA thinks she can do for their ratings what she has done for college WBB ratings, they will probably figure out a way to make it worth her while. Because of the different climates of the WNBA and college ball, I'm not sure she can do that, but she is probably their best bet to quickly bring the WNBA into the national consciousness.

That is probably outside of the scope of what is allowed in their Collective Bargaining Agreement. Her salary will be slotted based what the #1 picks in the draft have received. However, that is not where the real money will be for her. She will get a shoe deal. It is just a matter of the deal with a brand that she likes and benefits her the most. As I said, Nike already is paying Sabrina Ionescu 24 million. What do you think they will give Caitlin if she plays anywhere near as well as she played in college. She will be doing the commercial circuit heavy. Don't know much about her, but she can do a Podcast if she has any type of personality. One of these betting companies would be glad to sponsor her and set her up with a Podcast. The basketball salary is just a foundation to get to several revenue streams. If it is a couple hundred thousand, whatever. That will be her pocket change.

I wonder if the WNBA will let her take 5 steps like college?
She can shoot and pass but she walks constantly

Why not play and endorse?

Based on her popularity to garner huge numbers in person and on tv. She should be work 10's of millions of dollars. Does she deserve the same money as Taylor Swift? She almost as popular and Caitlin draws them in like her. My hope is Caitlin will become the 1st Billionaire women's athlete. (Jordan, Woods). With endorsements, she may be able to pull it off.

With her classiness, and ability to speak proper English, go with classy brands: Mercedes, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Disney Animation, REI, Nordstroms, etc. but also keep her Midwest roots with Hy-vee, 3M, Mayo, Clinic, Target, Christopher & Banks, General Mills, Caribou Coffee...

I wish I represented her...for her, it's the sky's the limit. She has the world by a string.
