Interesting...I'm watching ABC on Directv right nowNo ABC and ESPN channels. A message is saying their contract with Disney has expired.

Can you get MSG on YouTube TV?
I have Sling Blue. It has all the Fox Sports channels but none of the ESPN. No local channels either so I have an antenna which fills that gap. Zero complaints. I hate ESPN and feel good about not giving them my money. And really, there's nothing on ESPN I need to see. I can live without seeing the SEC or the NBA. Aside from a couple Phillies games on Sunday night, I've never regretted ditching ESPN. On the rare occasion when I HAVE to see something like the NCAA wrestling finals, watching at a local bar is always a good time.Think I’ll give Sling TV a try. Anybody tried it?
Just signed up for it and lo and behold the Phillies are not blocked for me! Only issue I will have is losing MSG network (I am a big Knicks and Devils fan although currently the Devils and Phillies are blocked for me).Couldn’t find free trial on sling.
Youtube TV 20 day Free trial.
Liking it thus far.
I think you can subscribe separately to msg+. It's a stand alone channel.Just signed up for it and lo and behold the Phillies are not blocked for me! Only issue I will have is losing MSG network (I am a big Knicks and Devils fan although currently the Devils and Phillies are blocked for me).

I don't think Disney is helping itself overcome the injunction re their forming the new sports group with fox, discovery......If anything this fight with Directv highlights their dominance in the marketDirectv indicates they are in for the long haul vs Disney. Disney wants the contract to include not going after them for anti-trust. Not gonna happen
Directv tried to go the anti-trust bs Mission Broadcasting, part of the monopoly of Nexstar media group which owns a lot of the local channels. The case was thrown out of court. We have been without the local CBS affiliate for almost two years and have had to get Paramount Plus to get the channel & subsequent sporting events. The same story exists with the NFL package. Why do I have to see all the games when the Bills games will do it for me?I don't think Disney is helping itself overcome the injunction re their forming the new sports group with fox, discovery......If anything this fight with Directv highlights their dominance in the market
It affects *some* local channels. If they are O and O channels, then they are off (Owned and Operated--LA is an example)It doesn’t affect your local channels, my ABC affiliate is intact
I just tried to cancel online, but they forced me to call (and wait 10 minutes) to speak with an associate.I've had DirecTV since 1999
Not seeing Phillies-Braves on Sunday was the last straw
Signed up for YouTube TV and I like it
Called DirecTV to quit and it was like trying to leave Scientology
Meanwhile quitting YouTubeTV can be done online with a few clicksI just tried to cancel online, but they forced me to call (and wait 10 minutes) to speak with an associate.
I tried not to be rude, but they make it challenging with all the questions as to why, who are you switching to, offering $20 to stay, etc, etc. I offer them only the information essential to cancel.
Guy sounded dejected, as though he must work on commission for accounts he can retain. Must suck to work that job at times like this.![]()
They're all pulling this crap Comcast incli. No ABC and ESPN channels. A message is saying their contract with Disney has expired.
We have Sling Orange and Blue for about $80/month. We fled DirecTV after about 15 years of constant price increases. Wife and I rarely watch anything but sports so SOB works for us. Very few service glitches - YMMV.I have Sling Blue. It has all the Fox Sports channels but none of the ESPN. No local channels either so I have an antenna which fills that gap. Zero complaints. Sling Orange has ESPN channels but no Fox. Or you can get both Blue and Orange. There are some differences in the other channels, but I only watch a couple of those anyway.
I called and threatened to cancel every year for the 15 years I had Directv and would get some mix of free Sunday Ticket and hundreds of dollars off the bill. When I finally called to cancel for real last year, it was crazy the offers they were willing to give to get me to stay.I just tried to cancel online, but they forced me to call (and wait 10 minutes) to speak with an associate.

Dish has had the same issues in the past--which is why we left Dish many moons ago.Switch to Dish, had it for yrs and love it, easy to work with etc..
It's not a coincidence it always happens around the beginning of football season. Disney is simply trying to use the viewers to pressure the provider. As far as the NFL games are concerned, speaking for myself, I don't care if I miss the Monday night game or not. I have Sling Blue (no ESPN) and have survived not seeing the handful of football or baseball games which involve a team I follow. Maybe Disney is hoping SEC fans will be outraged and flood DirecTV customer service with complaints. It's my feeling that outside the southeastern US, the regular college football fan will simply watch what's available. The longer the standoff continues, the more customers will adjust to life without ESPN.I, for one am glad that Directv has hung tough against. these ransom attempts. I f Directv and others gave in to these and other demands, we'd see rates sky rocket every year
