when a mobile QB becomes immobile = USC

pretty obvious the minute that Caleb Williams was injured, USC became a different team. if he does not get hurt, not sure Utah wins that game. Their DEF started just running a sprint to the QB on every play - not going to work if he is at 100%.

The extra dimension of mobility never showed so much as in this game.

Absolutely! This is why mobile QBs have such a short shelf life in the NFL. One little nick to the knee, ankle, groin and nobody fears the wheels anymore…they become one-dimensional like everybody else. If they can’t play effectively from the pocket, they’re not even close to the threat they once were.

Thinking of RG3.

Perfect example. And it looks like teams are figuring this out (except for the browns, who have never been guilty of figuring anything out). My hunch is the main reason the Ratbirds don’t want to pay Jackson what he wants (especially guaranteed $$) is because they know he is one (not even major) injury away from being a completely mediocre QB.

Of course but I didn’t see ISC hanging 48 on Utah even with Williams. Utah beat USC earlier this test when Williams was playing.

And damage to a leg has no effect on pocket passers either (unless they're playing Rutgers)?

I love it. Another person calls Baltiwhore the Ratbirds. Been calling them that since they moved to that cesspool city.

USC wasn’t scoring 48 even with a healthy Williams. They lost 43-42 earlier in the season to Utah with a healthy Williams earlier this year v

Sounds like a Harbaugh move to me. 😏

Gee remember back when Trace had to play banged up?
that is correct, and we were not the same team when this happened. not sure in some of those games that maybe the backup could have been a better option. A QB who is limping is pretty limited. Unless your QB room is pretty empty, at some point the backups are better option than seriously injured QB1.
