i thought it was rather ironic that they had a somewhat violent protest for human rights...violent enough to have to move the parade route secretly. what were they going to do....***** slap everyone carrying the torch.

protests going on world-wide right now, even in cities where the torch has already been or isn't scheduled to come thru for months. Protesting human rights violations by Chinese against people of Tibet. Could end up getting really ugly at Olympics if things keep building the way they are right now...

Those chinee ran over their own citizens w/ tanks. Just think what they would do to a bunch of fruits from frisco. And china does suck balls.

Give me skiing, ice hockey and speed skating any day over track and field, gymnastics and diving.

But I watched a half hour or so last Winter Olympics. It's kind of like marbles on ice in slow motion.

Winter: Curling
Bobsled
Cross Country Skiing (where they ski, then shoot ****, then ski some more)
The Super G, or whatever the skiing is where they haul *** down the mountain
Speed Skating

Summer: Swimming ( I was on a swim team growing up, so I've always like it)
Kayaking
100m dash
That cycling competition where they ride in the banked oval at like 40 mph

Winter has more of the good sports, therefore the Winter Olympics are better.

Cross Country Skiing (where they ski, then shoot ****, then ski some more) - Cross Country Skiing is just what it says, they ski cross country. The Biathlon is the sport where they ski for a while then shoot something then ski some more.

The Super G, or whatever the skiing is where they haul *** down the mountain - The Super G is fast but with wide arcing turns. The Downhill is pretty much what it says, not many turns.

I had forgotten about the bobsled. That's pretty cool. Also, the one where they ride down the bobsled track feet first on their backs on a sled is too.

Ice hockey is a no brainer. And give me short track speed skating - possibly the fastest anything-can-happen sport in all of olympics. Skiing is all good. And I dug last year's new winter olympic sport that was the snowboard half pipe thing.

For summer, I like gymnastics and that's about it. I am uber impressed at he sick strength those dudes have.

The velodrome, especially the pursuit cycling is cool. Swimming, especially the relays, is excellent. The track and field events are always good. I wish they'd show more of the marathon and triathlon. The USA has a pretty decent contender in the marathon this year. Watch for Ryan Hall. He set the US half marathon record the first time he ran one, and the Olympics will only be his fifth marathon, but he's been flying so far.

+1 for women's beach volleyball, too. Is it still part of the games?
