Before Saban retired, game at Bama, returning their team from last year, I'd have said Bama -25ish.

Now, losing numerous key players and top recruits, I'd say Bama -12ish.

Just give us a puncher's chance.

Nah. That team needed the best coaching job the best coach in the history of the game could do to get where they were last year. New coaching staff, talent drop off. They aren’t going to be a dominant team next year. They’re not winning any SEC games by 21 points.

Nah. That team needed the best coaching job the best coach in the history of the game could do to get where they were last year. New coaching staff, talent drop off. They aren’t going to be a dominant team next year. They’re not winning any SEC games by 21 points.

They will still most likely beat us easily, but it did take a a lot of patching by Saban to get this team to where it ended the season. They have lost a lot to the portal including some of their top players, not just backups. On top of that, they've had some significant de-commitments. No doubt they are weakened from where they were. Take out the greatest coach in the history of the game and you could be looking at a 4-loss team.

Or they could run the table, who knows? haha

They will be playing a 5-7 team with a new redshirt freshman qb, new RB, an OL made mostly of "hope", a D that wasn't stopping anyone and hasn't picked up any stars and a roster full of transfer players who weren't exactly hot commodities in the portal market when they play Carolina. They could easily beat us by 21. The line will probably be around 10 or so but I think DeBoer is going to pour on the coals in every game he can to make the Bama fans think things are going to be fine.

Well, it isn't like Beamer is going to show up with a bunch of Kentucky Derby class thoroughbreds. Bama won't have the talent they have had but they will be absolutely loaded with talent compared to us. Saban did a great job in 2023, maybe his best ever, but 2023 is gone. Deboer is a good coach and Bama is going to have plenty of talent. They are going to have a drop off but they aren't going to have a 5-7 drop off.
