Giving 20 points to a power five team always scares me, but the big 12 defenses are not very good so I’m not quite as high on the West Virginia running game as some of the prognosticators are. I think the night game atmosphere pushes me towards giving the points but I would definitely wait to see if the line moves any first.
I see a lower scoring game.....WVU trying to shorten the contest by staying on the ground, moving the chains and keeping PSU O off the field. PSU utilizing the run to give Allar some time to settle in. It's usually hard to win by more than 3 TDs in a game that's played like that.
I'm also not a believer in media created hype. It could very well be the WVU isn't nearly as bad nor PSU the playoff team the "experts" have predicted.
All that said....hoping like hell for PSU to render a good old fashioned country *** beating.

Anything short of a 42-point win is unacceptable.

Looks like the o/u is 48.5 with a 20.5 spread. That's a score of about 34 to 14?? I don't think PSU will cover and I'll take the under. Both teams have a new QB but with it being a night game at Beaver Stadium with a jacked up crowd, I think it'll be difficult for new WVU QB. I'd love to see a laugher but opening games aren't always predictable.
Don't forget each game will have 10-15 less plays due to running clock after first downs outside last two min. I'm not sure O/Us are taking this intro consideration yet

in his PC, James addressed the shorter games. I believe he said the first weekend was 6 plays. no sure if he mean 6 per team or 6 in total game.

I’ve stated here many times in the past that because of family ties to WVU, including some fantastic tailgating events in my youth, they are my 2nd favorite team. That said, I really don’t see them hanging with State…the final should be well north of the spread.
