To McAndrew Board denizens, if you are going next week to the White Out, please stop by and say hello to fellow board “lurker” and great guy, STPGopher. He is venturing east with family for the game and MaconNitt and myself (and families) will be hosting them. Shot clock extravaganza and maybe, just maybe, a Boursin cheese steak or two. Lot 34 along fence where you enter the upper part up the hill. Come say hello and help STP “row da boat” .

Have him sing the Minnesota Fight Song “Ra ra sky u ma” for his food. I love that tune. Actually it’s called “Minnesota Hat’s To thee” but I love the “sky u ma” line whatever the hell that is.
We got to hear it a few years ago when he hosted MaconNitt and myself at their tailgate.

If I can figure out where “Lot 34 along fence where you enter the upper part up the hill,” that is

Thank you! The trap is set, but being a rodent fan, I think I am ready?

Seriously, I look forward to seeing the awesome two again! This Bromance is incredible (Joke)! Rude Dude and Macon Nitt came up to Minnesota to see the Nittany Lions! These fine Gentlemen were fine representatives of Penn State. I was an honor to have them stop by for a "tailgate".

In general, whether in the Neighborhood, at work, on a flight, on the side of an active Volcano, or anywhere else, I can truly say that PSU fans are the best! I am happy that I can finally check off visiting Beaver Stadium (and maybe sneak in a peak of Pegula Arena)! Over the years I've had much fun tailgating with Penn State fans, and I suspect that this experience will be the best.

With that said, let us not lose focus on our next games. Michigan, and Illinois. Let's both win and set the stage for a fantastic White out!

Cheers from a humble rodent!

you picked two good ones with whom to tailgate. And @rudedude's tease of "a Boursin cheese steak or two" (though cheesesteak is one word) is very, very tempting.

Sorry I won't be up for the game. Have a blast watching PSU win. ;)

I am afraid that you may be correct. PSU has been playing well. We got handled by Purdue.:( Look forward to it all. The Cheesesteak will just be icing on the cake!

How do you think I plan on getting into the game?
You are a good egg, but you probably don't hang out here quite enough to get all of our "legends"....
At the 2002 Nebraska game, a Nebraska fan had his vintage Nebraska foam cowboy hat stolen by some PSU aholes. He posted the story on the McAndrew Board and, long story short, I'll be goddamned if this board didn't manage to get the guy his hat back.

I hope you have a fantastic time in Happy Valley, and if any PSU fans are overly unfriendly, let us know and we will kick their a$$.

I just heard a story about a PSU fan from a fellow Gopher fan. He had nothing but great things to say about Penn State fans including that a Nittany Lion fan stuck around to pay $5 on a joke bet. This was more than an hour after the game.

^^Friday^^

I used to be a rabid PSU fan and I’ve given up on going to games AND watching on TV. Life is too short to waste money on a mediocre product.

Of course I still care. I have fond memories of my time at PSU (which includes many football Saturdays, both home and away) and PSU football has been a big part of my life since the mid 80s. I’ll continue to talk about it here, but my feelings towards PSU have changed over the past decade or so and I’m not going to pay money to see a mediocre product or punish/frustrate myself by watching the football team underperform yet again.
^^Today^^

So...any extra tickets?

To clarify, when I said I was heading up to State College for the game, I meant I was heading up to State College to hang with some old friends, play some golf, drink some beers, tailgate, and NOT buy a ticket to the game. Furthermore, in all the years (34) I’ve gone back up to SC for a “football weekend” this is the second year I have no interest in actually going in.

To each their own.

I know folks that have gone up for the day, tailgated with friends, enjoyed State College and the campus, and watched the game at a bar.

While some aspects of that sound interesting, I would have no interest in driving up, and doing all of those things, if I wasn't going inside to the game. That still remains my main reason for going to State College for a weekend.

Not every season goes as fans would like. I always expect the team to be undefeated, but I don't jump off the wagon if they lose a game.

And to miss a Whiteout game? I've sat through some that we lost, and one where it was raining, and I didn't regret my attending any of them.
