Palmetto Pig is a well known spot.
Hites also.

Scott's is by far the best if you are heading towards the low country. Hemingway, sc. Area around it is a little shady but the BBQ is great.
Well I guess it depends on where you are in the state. I only get to Greenville-Spartanburg so I can only vouch for the upstate...My go to place is Bucky's in Greenville. BBQ is really good and the sides that come with the BBQ are as well...
The best BBQ in the WORLD IMO is Ridgewood BBQ in Bluff City TN...so if you ever get to upper East TN go there. Bluff City is between Johnson City and Bristol close to the Bristol International Raceway.
Shealy's has a great buffet and wonderful fried chicken. Hash is decent . BBQ is ok. Not smoked though. Price's in gilbert has great real wood smoked bbq

Every time my group plays golf at Wyboo, we go to Manning for buffet lunch at D&H. Everything on the buffet is good. Hash is good. Barbeque and table sauces are outstanding. Stellar banana pudding to go along with everything else. Good service as well.

I'll have to try it when it's open. It ain't open much and not at all in January. Cash only is a detraction for the group with which I travel. The other place is more on our route and has never disappointed us.

On Wade Hampton near the intersection with Church St. near downtown - just down from the new Harris Teeter on the right.
Shealy’s has the best hash in my opinion. I haven’t been to any BBQ places outside of the Midlands though. I doubt anyone else would create better hash than Shealy’s.

This thread should be dedicated to Coupe - Henry's Smokehouse in Greenville (Simpsonville location almost as good). Scott's for people with cash and can find them. Farm Boys in Chapin pretty good if they're busy - get the ribs unsauced I haven't eaten there in a year or so. Bubba's in Spartanburg best in Spartanburg.
always have enjoyed Little Pigs or Hudson’s. Haven’t eaten at either place in years so no idea if quality has declined.
have fond memories of growing up in Rosewood in the 70s/80s and eating at the Little Barbecue Hut in the old Rosewood Shopping center before the original owners sold the restaurant. man, they had an awesome Buffett. I can remember getting a to go order one time and the lady owner answered the phone . when she hung up, she yelled to the back to “stock the Buffett full, that was a coach from the SC football team & about 25 players were coming down for lunch from the Roost!”
