that are known.
1- DeAndre Hersey is from just over the line in Alabama. He was offered by Coach Stansbury if he would go to Three Rivers CC for a year because we are full at his position. This was his words in an interview. Instead he has commited to South Alabama but has said he wants to do what is best for him. Suppoosedly he can play 3 or maybe 4 due to his leaping and wingspan.

2- Twany Beckham is 6-5 guard from Louisville, KY that is playing at some prep school. He wasn't that highly recruited last year but is getting a lot of looks this year. We had a visit with him last week according to a recent interview with him. Supposedly he can play 1,2 or 3.

handout a turner, rimmer, benock, etc type ship...There are a number of big time players in S smith's class in 09. Now, if we can find a really good one then maybe, but i would holdoff on another project...

SWAT in the middle is the key. Baily and Ravern will probably be better. Barry and Ben are experienced juniors.

plus, you got a top 10 national class coming in with Osby and Bost. Both of those guys will play significant roles for us next year. It wouldn't shock me to see either one or both start. Ive seen Osby play and he's a damn stud.

It'll be more like:

Bost, backed up by Stewart
Hans, backed up by Ravern
Stewart, backed up by Ravern
Osby, backed up by Bailey/Augustus
Swat, backed up by Johnson/Bailey

We'll be going small for 25-30 minutes a game and running opponents' asses off. I think our tournament chances are at least 50-50. And that's assuming Jamont doesn't come back, which given your track record it's a virtual lock that he will come back. Then we're a Sweet 16 team.

i do remember that, but i remember reading that the ranking was that high because Hopson hadnt yet declared where he was going...or something like that. essentially, we were up there because Hopson was still in the picture.

I think B Johnson starts in place of Osby, at least at the first of the year. Bost better be as good as he was in prep school. Additionally every year somebody that didn't produce that much the previous year steps up.

You doorknobs are talking about a guy thats almost 100 games over .500 and has been in postseason 8 of the last 10 years, He also went 24-9 this past season, you cant hate on him for being in a lower conference. There is no way in hell you can say he couldnt do as well or better than Ricky.

You sheep seem to forget Ricky has a losing record against major conference teams outside of the SEC...funny that is never mentioned

......we find some consistent outside shooting. I don't think we're going to get it from Ben and Barry, so we'll see how the lineup works out. IF we can somehow find that sort of production, then it wouldn't be far-fetched to suggest we could be not just an NCAA Tourney team but also Sweet 16 or better.

on scout, we are currently 10th in ranking. I know they don't mean ****. I'm just stating my point. Bost is a 4* player and was a top 100 player in the 2007 class. Osby is a high 4*. They have our rankings calculated with 2 commitments(signed) and a star average of 4.0. Hopson wasnt calculated in this. These figures could change though.

They were both forced into more prominant roles when the Delk's left and their games suffered for it. But they CAN shoot the ball. Last year, they shot 41% and 39% on 3-pointers. I think as more experienced players with a full year of starting under their belts, they can regain that shooting touch.

Stop it. You aren't even in the ballpark on this one.

Steve Alford is 254-161 for a .612 winning pct.
Rick Stansbury is 207-113 for a .647 winning pct.

Steve Alford has been to postseason 8 of the past 10 years. 4 NCAA, 4 NIT.
Rick Stansbury has also been to postseason in 8 of his 10 years. 5 NCAA, 3 NIT.

Steve Alford posted an impressive 61-67 Big 10 conference record. That's a whopping .476 win pct.
Rick Stansbury is 85-72 in the SEC (which is a tougher overall league than the Big 10) for a .541 win pct.

Steve Alford won 1 conference title - the Missouri Valley in 1999.
Rick Stansbury won a SEC title in 2004.

he is greater than Ricky. But he isnt a bad coach. And there is no way to say he couldnt be a quality SEC coach. He has had some very good seasons. And you couldnt say he cant come into S'ville and possibly win more games.

Its moot cause Ricky aint leavin for at least 10 years...but you cant say he Alford would be a bad choice..

I also had other names on the list btw..funny nobody still wants to refute Travis Ford
