Who on here has been fortunate enough during their fandom to experience a season that made you fall in love with your team all over again?

For me that 2000 football season was special(maybe because I was a 15 yr old kid at the time). After 1-21 I was in a state of "tell me how much we lose by". Then that year a 21 game losing streak fell(NM State), an 18 game SEC losing streak fell(Georgia, along with Quincy Carter's heisman chances), we start 4-0(1st time since 1988), an 11 game road losing streak fell(Kentucky, showing a certain journalist we do belong in the SEC) and ending the year with the destruction of Ohio St. in the Outback Bowl, it was a season that kept me thinking "man, I can't wait to see how this ends up!" I haven't had a season that took me as a fan on that kind of ride since, even the 11 win years and the SEC East Championship year.

2004 - Boston Red Sox

Coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the ALCS. First and still only team to come back from a 3-0 deficit in baseball. Beating Mariano Rivera back to back one of the greatest relief pitchers of all time. Back to back extra innings wins with David Ortiz in both games delivering game ending HR's (and his legend is born). Winning the final two games in Yankee Stadium. Watching Yankee fans look of total shock and disbelief was priceless.
AND BEST OF ALL. It was against the Yankees. The only team to ever lose a 3 game deficit in the playoffs.
PRICELESS.

This old man was fortunate enough to be a freshman at USC in 1980 when Rogers won the Heisman and about to graduate in 1984 when we were treated to the Fire Ants, Black Magic and a 10-1 regular season. We were disappointed in the loss to Navy and the loss in the Gator Bowl, but it was still a magical year, especially combined with the college experience at the same time.

Started to have that experience earlier this season with the Yankees. Took me back nearly a quarter century to 1998 when we had a historically good team and you expected to win every game. Buuuuuuuut the bottom has since fallen out and we are pretty bad. False alarm.

From a pro standpoint as a Carolina Panthers fan, lightning struck again for me in 2003. That fall watching that team I figured they'd be somewhat better than what the experts were saying based off of some of the free agency pickups(Stephen Davis, Ricky Proehl etc.) and the continued development of some of the young guys like Steve Smith and Julius Peppers. But I was still blown away by what transpired that year. Each game the anticipation built on the previous game. As a football fan there is nothing like getting into December, approaching Christmas and New Year's with your team clearly in contention, especially when that team has come from nowhere and shocked everyone. Christmas is already a fun time for me, but knowing my teams are playing well and the sky is the limit definitely adds to it for me.

The Yankees lost me in 1964 - when CBS bought them.

Growing up and watching a Gamecock football was during like Brad Scott and Sparky Woods. We barely won and for the most part absolutely horrible at football. I was used to it and as a kid I had a great time running around with the other kids. The win/loss ratio didn’t get to me. As I got older that changed.
When Spurrier came and we had those 11 win seasons, it was everything. Then he got lazy and the team went to crap. Tanner’s first hire was an absolute disaster which pretty much everyone except Tanner expected it to be.
I am hoping for better times again! Optimistic about Beamer.

You will think I'm crazy, but Lou's first year. Hard to explain. But it's easy for me since I fell in love with all things Gamecocks the first day I stepped on campus. Big George was there at the time, and to me it will always be a special place. That 0-11 team had zero talent left by Fat Brad.............they fought hard. I knew the next year would be different and we won 8 games.........biggest turn around in college history at the time. My respect for our fan base during the 0-11 year grew as well.

I attended the opening game at N.C. State in that monsoon and all the home games, plus one more road game. Though we never won a game, I was never ashamed of that team. They comported themselves with heart and honor. On the other hand, the 1988 team, which went 8-4, was an embarrassment in my eyes.

Witness to all home games and some road games during Big George's career...great period. But 84 season was quite a ride...attended all 12 games. Trip to South Bend was special but the trip to Annapolis for Navy was devastating. Bowl game was a great trip but the game itself was a bad way to end a magical season.

I don't know if it was necessarily "falling in love again" with a team, but damn if I have never been happier than I was at 11:55 pm June 29, 2010.
And I remember at the time thinking that I wish my father were still alive to have seen it.
