Who to blame for this embarassing loss?

5. Blake McAdams for being the worst punter in college football. He would be #1 but his sucktitude led to a turnover.
4. Pegues for letting himself and the team down by getting suspended. Muffed punt that led to a TD and muffed KO + lack of big plays from the defense or return game.
3. Carrol for 3 INT's
2. Croom for travel plans, QB rotation, clock mis-management at the end of the first half. He should have let the clock run down before calling the TO. We could have burned 32 more seconds which would have prevented La. Tech from scoring. And poor use of Time outs in the second half + play calling.
1. LT for scheduling this 17'n game.

LT set it up .but Croom hired the coaches, recruited the players and made the stupid decisions for the last 5 years of embarrassing ********.

I'm saying McAdams and the return guys that fumbled. We should be able to deal with 3 INTs. The KR and PR fumbles as well as McAdams worst night of punting (and that's saying a LOT) is what killed us.

we should have pounded the ball after their muffed punt at the 40 with 4 minutes left. you ride the horse that brought you. not with a juco walkon.

agreed. As an SEC team we should be able to play somewhat poorly and still win. It will be a very long season if defense can't put pressure on a QB.

Agreed. Steve O needs to stick to piercing his *** cheeks and sniffing coke. An SEC quarterback he is not.

Can Tyler Russell skip his senior year? Hell, what am I saying, he'll probably decommit after seeing this ****.

has been undone in one fatal blow.

1. Tyson Lee. Are you serious? What's Carroll's record? And Tyson Lee is in the game at its most crucial moments? Are you serious? If I'm Carroll, I want to know why the hell I'm on the bench when it matters.
2. Wade Bonner returns kicks. He's really a safety. Guess what. He fumbled one and on the others ran with two hands on the ball like a fullback at the goal line. A real return threat.
3. Somebody put an APB on Robert Elliot. See no. 3.
4. Did Anthony Dixon dress out the second half?
5. McAdams. No words.
6. Our coaching, after five years, is pathetic.

It's not Tyson's fault that he was on the field. It is Croom's fault.

Did McRae get hurt, because he disappeared in the second half. Jaymel Smith, another former walk-on, played terrible.

Michael Brown and Anthony Johnson, but far in a way it is Croom.
1. Why can't we get a qb? We have had 8 years since Wayne Madkin, why can't we get a qb, a legitimate qb that isn't built like a 10th grader? 1 !!$%#%# kid in Mississippi that can play qb? Every other team seems to be able to find a qb but us.
2. Why did we stop running the ball? Why did Robert Elliott never see the field? Why is Tyson Lee in the game? Why do we not have any decent qb's? Why did we have no pressure on them? Why did we let Ellis Johnson leave? Why do we pay someone 2 million dollars to get embarrassed by a WAC team? Why oh why do I continue to subject myself to this torture? etc...

run, run, pass. Wait wasn't that what everyone was complaining about from last season? Well we decided to pass more and got our *** handed to us. Sorry *** east west running and losing the field position battle all night long. We just gave them the game. Special teams also contributed greatly to the loss.

in the second half. Didn't you see him? He was the one jumping from side to side behind the line, running across the line of scrimage and generally acting like he is 5-7, 135 lbs.

That's how I knew he dressed out in the second half.

and it's not even close. We were entirely unprepared and completely outcoached tonight. We clearly had better talent, but got smoked by an inferior team. The hallmark of the Crooms era.

Lee brings absolutely nothing to the table in the qb position. He is shorter, slower and very timid. He had trouble with the snap, handing off and pitching the ball. He missed an easy out route on 3rd down that would have kept the drive alive. Hasn't lee and carroll been splitting snaps in practice?

Croom has lost his !@%#!*@ mind and his gut instinct !@%#!*@ sucks. For him to have lee in the game when we had to score tells you all you ever need to know about his coaching ability.

1. The defense has slipped from last year. I was surpised to see them run it down our throat when we were expecting it. If we cant rush the passer with 4 you have to bring pressure. Defense played good enough to win. Offense sucks again.

2. Special teams, moving on

3. We still cant score points. Play calling was somewhat better, but in year 5 of the offense we only put up 14 points against a wac team ,that should tell you that this offense doesn't work.

4. I cant see us winning more than 3 games if we play like we did tonight. We have alot of pain coming our way when sec play starts.

The punt hitting the tech guy in the back was the best play of the game.

Sure, he was at the helm when state led a TD drive, but that drive was on the back of Dixon. The only time a State QB looked decent was the TD drive Weasley Carrol led.

I'm a Carroll fan, but he had a BAD night...3 INT's, himself...5 turnovers overall. Lee for the most part, did ok, (in my opinion).

How is this totally Croom's fault?

1) Special teams- McAdams has a 16 yard punt and a low short punt that they return to our 10 yard line to set up the TD at the end of the first half. Jamayel Smith cant catch a punt. And Wade Bonner fumbles a KO return. That's 4 EXECUTION plays. Not Crooms fault.

2) Wes Carrol throws 3 interceptions: 2 terrible, 1 he gets hit (understandable). He throws a pick inside their red zone when we would take the lead with a FG. How is that Croom's fault? But then you blame the guy for putting in the other QB who ends the night 10-15. Lee played much better than Carroll did tonight. He struggled on some snaps and handoffs but he never turned the ball over and he was on target on most of his passes. Some of you need to get over your love of Carroll. He is not a playmaker and IMO, he's not that great.

3) Without Sherrod on the offensive line, we piece together a VERY inexperienced offensive line. This happened this past week too. Not much we could do about that. With Sherrod on the line we could have run the ball much more effectively. His absence in this game is one of the main reasons we lost.

4) Aubrey Bell's drop on 3rd and 10 with 3:33 left was killer. We had a little momentum there and he may have gotten a first down. We definitely would not have punted on the next play.

No doubt we should have won this game, but I find it hard to place the blame solely on Croom. Sure he deserves some blame, but when does the blame get placed on the shoulders of the players. The play-calling was not that terrible. Sure I would have liked to see more runs, but their D-line beat up our O-line all night. Dixon didnt have much room to run when he got the ball a lot of the time.

Plus you cannot say that the defense played that terrible. They were thrown onto the field oftentimes without a rest because of turnovers. Turnovers and McAdams being awful killed our defense. They allowed only 9 points in the first half and La Tech had the ball on our side of the field 7 times. Sounds like the D stepped up to me. Both of their TDs came when we gave them a very short field.

You may have some good points, but save them for post number seven.

I do agree that one game does not make a season. But now's not the time.

I should not be a State fan. I wish I had not been born one. If I was not a State fan this would not be an embarrassing loss, simply a humorous one. The only people more pathetic than those of us born in to this misery are the poor ignorami that chose it of their own free will. All I could think of tonight, and I never could remember the whole thing, was that sig line "I'm so depressed I can't even _____"

I thought the playcalling wasn't that bad. The players made mistake after 17'n mistake and has anyone mentioned that our special teams play is what really lost the game tonight? Oh, and don't think that I'm not pissed to high heaven nor am I a freaking Croom apologist. We sucked it up and got beat by LA Tech of all damn people. 5 turnovers and ****** ****** ****** ****** special teams will get you beat every time. By the end of the season, I may be calling for Croom's head, but 1 game, no matter how pissed I am, won't do it. That's all I have to say about that (in perfect Gump fashion). I'm going to take a **** in Croom's yard to make sure he knows I'm not happy but I'm not giving up on the season.

There were maybe 20,000 people at that half *** stadium. Our players were nervous because they knew most of the low lifes in the stands will never make it in life. I blame the stadium but I thank coonasses for making southern comfort. It was the only thing that got me threw the night. Thanks LT you #%!$!#* bastard. Way to ruin my semester cock face

Lee 10-15-67% 85 yards 0-ints-lead one drive that resulted in a touchdown.
Carroll 12-25-48% 172 yards 3 ints-lead one drive that resulted in a touchdown.

carroll was god-awful today. i'm not a fan of the 2 qb system but lee had every right to be in the game and i was wondering why carroll was let back in after the 2nd pick. there are several reasons we lost today none of which have anything to do with what tyson did on the field today.

my list of the reasons we lost
1. croom-time management before and during the game, 2 qb system...should have pulled carroll
2. special teams
3. wes carroll
4. the recievers that proved today why they are the worst in the sec

my thoughts on ltu:

does the wac distibute ANY money to these schools? the attendance of 25,000 to their biggest game ever should tell you a little something about the place. i know this subject has been beat to death, but if before the season i was to guess if that stadium belong to a member of the bowl championship division or a member of the louisiana high school athletic assiciation i would honestly go with the latter. i know we our among the worst in the sec but our stadium and facilities look like the bejing national stadium compared to theirs. the field house was a bigger joke than the stadium. it looked like nothing had been touched or renovated in any way since the day the respective facilities opened. also there was a railroad track right by some (what i hope was) dilapadated dorms and several trains went by during the game. i can see that posing a problem for any student that ever lived in those dorms. no wonder it looked condemned. also the bball stadium looked very gloomy and unattractive. you would think 2 big names like bradshaw and malone they could get some nice donations for their athletic facilities.
on the plus side the fans were extremely pleasant and their synthetic turf was nice to look at.

We can blame coaching, we can blame suspensions, injuries, ****** players all we want, but the fact is, we, an SEC team, should never schedule this to begin with. No other team in the SEC would play away, away against a WAC team, especially as the opener. Thanks to Larry's tight ***, we continue to become the 1st in many embarrassing stats. I blame this fully on LT.

I would like to give a big 17 you to the coaching staff, the players, the "gun incident" participants, and players that can't go to class, without all of you, our shining moments like this would not be possible. Thank you McRae and Fitzhugh, you 2 deserve better than this.

If it wasn't for the extra revenue coming in from MState fans contributing thanks to Bush's tax cuts, maybe LT/Byrne wouldn't have been so generous with Coach Croom's pay raise.

on the head coach. An inexcusable loss in which we were completely unprepared to play. I have never seen an offense so lacking in direction as the MSU offense.

Instead of thinking about their future and the team, they were trying to get their krunk on, not get "disrespected", and be gangsta thugs.

Hell, this team isn't any better than the <17>ing thugs we had in 2003.

SEC teams are not supposed to open their seasons in Ruston , La. In fact, unless you are playing a UCLA, USC, Oklahoma etc....; sec teams are not supposed to open on the road period. </p>
