I agree with you. It had a lot to do with coaching. He obviously is talented but he didn’t show much of that talent at the beginning of the year. It took coaching AND game experience.

There have been plenty of talented QB’s who never developed as predicted. For example, DJ Uiagalelei (of Clemson and FSU fame) was highly touted but hasn’t fulfilled his purported potential. Jumping from one set of coaches to another and another surely didn’t help him develop.
