I'd guess the "mystery transfer" is a mystery to Cael.On the last frl, Pyles mentioned to Funky that a "national championship caliber" transfer was coming soon, and funky mentioned penn state...does anyone dare venture a guess as to who it may be?
I've heard a few guesses so far bur we will seeI'm not gonna guess.
The "national champ caliber" transfer itself is completely unsubstantiated at this point, much less that said transfer would be headed to PSU. So right now it's uncertainty multiplied by doubt. You do the math.
I listened to FRL that day. By the way Funky lost his s**t, my guess is Iowa St 157 David Carr.
Care to throw out the name for those of us who don't have the wrestling decoder ring? Please? Can we all take a guess? I'm guessing 157 pounder. I'm guessing he wants to be closer to home, like 60 miles from SC.
Seeded 4th at Nationals but didn't place. Looks to pin or be pinned which is why he didn't place at Nationals.
Just needs a little fine tuning, he wrestles like Cael likes.
Absolutely no reason why he would transfer. My guess has more validity than guessing Carr, that dog won't hunt.
The offseason is awful, sorry for this post.

Dubois is about a 50 minute drive from SC, so it's about 40 miles maybe 45.Can we all take a guess? I'm guessing 157 pounder. I'm guessing he wants to be closer to home, like 60 miles from SC.

Just withdrawal, I said it was wishful thinking. Probably Pyles playing games, we have a #1 team again without a transfer. You're thinking of Ed Scott.
When guys start entering the portal then we'll at least have something concrete to speculate on. Until then anything Piles says should be taken with a grain of salt
DuBois is a little over 60 miles from SC and takes a little over an hour to drive.Dubois is about a 50 minute drive from SC, so it's about 40 miles maybe 45.
Correct. It's still pretty close compared to most other towns. It's also probably irrelevant because Pyles called the Wrestler a national championship "caliber" wrestler and I think if you polled fans nationwide they would not have Scott as high as that. More like R12 Low aa caliber.DuBois is a little over 60 miles from SC and takes a little over an hour to drive.
Ed Scott won the ACC Tourney, he pinned #19 Jake Keating of Va. in the semis and beat N.Car. Austin O'Connor 4-3, O'Connor was last year's 149# National champ.Correct. Did you predict him to win the national championship?Ed Scott won the ACC Tourney, he pinned #19 Jake Keating of Va. in the semis and beat N.Car. Austin O'Connor 4-3, O'Connor was last year's 149# National champ.
Scott is fearless, he pinned Caleb Young in the dual meet last year. IMO he definitely has what it takes to be a National Champ. He was seeded #4 at Nationals.
Dalton PerryDid you predict him to win the national championship?
I really doubt we are getting a former National champ, if we get a transfer at all. This is all speculation as I see it. I am just playing the game.Did you predict him to win the national championship?
Hey, we are getting Van Ness at 149 so actually I think we are gonna be just fine there...I am wondering though, which weight would a high profile transfer be installed? Is Levi Haines ready? Is Facundo ready?I really doubt we are getting a former National champ, if we get a transfer at all. This is all speculation as I see it. I am just playing the game.
I think Barraclough has plenty of skill. He just needs more horsepower. I've been told skills improve during the season. Horsepower is added in the offseason. What’s interesting about Scott is that he and Barraclough went down to the wire in a freestyle match, as I vaguely recall, in the PSU card on Rokfin early in Covid. (I no longer subscribe to Rokfin so can’t check to confirm.) I remembering thinking that this was a matchup of two studs, but Scott really has progressed to the upper tier, whereas Barraclough hasn’t just yet. Yes, I realize it was a freestyle match…
Ok, so I just got the news...it's Real Woods. Again that's the rumor. I'm not confirming a transfer yet, but am confirming the name that Pyles was referring to.
I think he took 3rd at Nationals this year, or 5th, but absolutely he is a National championship caliber wrestler at 141 next season and should enter the season ranked number 1, based off returning wrestlers at that weight class. Why would he here, to get chopped?
Why would he “get chopped”? Is Nick Lee coming back to get a 3rd NCAA title & a 6th All-American finish at the national tournament next March? Why would he come here, to get chopped?

Keep in mind though, I think, Beau still has a RS available to take? It could work to his advantage the same way it did for Nico and Zain?I don't see how this would work unless Woods is going to go 149lbs and Van Ness moves to 157lbs while Haines redshirts. Beau has done a nice job at 149lbs but 141lbs is where he will be the most successful and I don't think they are going to bring in a 141lber to start when we have Beau, who has been wrestling up a weight waiting for Nick to be done.

Barraclough could be really good at 157 if he got stronger. Hopefully he focuses on his strength this off season. What’s interesting about Scott is that he and Barraclough went down to the wire in a freestyle match, as I vaguely recall, in the PSU card on Rokfin early in Covid. I don’t see that. Kennedy isn’t close in ability to his brother Quincy. We might already have 2-3 guys in the room that are better than KM.Could the transfer be Kennedy Monday?
Real gave Nick his toughest battle at Nationals. He’s elite. You get him on the room if given the chance. BB takes his RS. With Cael, it’s all about the team. He has a plan and knows exactly how to make it happen. Two guys on the current team can take RS’s. Watch what happens. Cael knows his room.Real Woods is solid & certainly would be a National Caliber guy. He ain’t Nick Lee, but few are.
You know, according to HR Cael Sanderson is a horrible subhuman who cares nothing about his wrestlers. He purposely tosses them away like trash. He cheats. He breaks all of the rules. If anyone wants some cheap entertainment, go over to HR and read the thread about Real Woods transferring to PSU. It’s even more loonier than normal. It must be a full moon in Iowa.
