No clue if it's an indicator, but I don't think he ever visited us during his recruitment.

He doesn’t fit their current 4 man front style as well as Saban’s 3 man front. We sure could use him here.

us or Ole Miss?
I had no idea what this was about so I googled him. The article said he was “opting out of the rest of the season” and entering the portal.

I’m happy the rules now are tilted more toward the players than they used to be. It was long overdue.

But let’s be clear. He did not “opt out.” He quit on his team. If you leave your team in the middle of the year, you are quitting.

I completely understand your point. And I really take no solid position on this issue. But if he was recruited by a certain coach to play a certain position or scheme, and then that coach quits (retires) during his tenure, and is replaced with someone that runs a scheme that is not well suited for him, should he be able to transfer? Is it quitting too just like his coach? Yes. But it’s a dog eat dog world and he is trying to get to the league. So I am sympathetic here.

The coach who recruited him to Alabama to play in that scheme is named Pete Golding.
