That's the point. Seems it would be easy to clip some of them guys, AND not have them play against us.
Lenny can survive 4-8 next year, but he can't survive losing to USM, and at the moment, that almost seems like a certainty.

Because there are only a couple guys we'd be interested in. Basically, it's not a great roster outside a couple guys and we've talked to them already.
In what way are we too cool to recruit a 9-3 Sun Belt champion team? This attitude has infected this fanbase in a horrible way. Acting like losing all these 3 star level guys is a good thing. It's ridiculous.
I have no knowledge about their team, but I am surprised that a good sunbelt team only has a few players we'd be interested in at this point. We basically couldn't put 4 G5 quality Dline on the field at the same time last year during some games, and I don't think we've really pulled a lot of DTs yet? Seems like that would be a better place to fill out "the backend of our roster" than JUCO.

Indiana did pretty well with a James Madison infusion of talent. I’m watching some of the better portal evaluators from other programs, they are looking at a lot of g5 players, the difference is they can evaluate the really good ones who will perform at the next level. last year we just blindly loaded up on a bunch of duds with apparently no evaluation.

I see 2 choices:
- Stay where we are, by trying to recruit the big fish and missing;
- Try to get marginally better, with maybe a little luck.
Option 1 just isn't working, man. It never has in our history. You have to get to average, then start picking off the big fish.

Option 1 is working for another university in this state due to football competency. This university is wondering how much the fans are going to absolutely love the same ole stuff next year, singing along proudly to “Madelon” before kickoff, bad to the bone, and being able to make it home early after the 11:30 kicks…

I'd never considered the Of Mice and Men connection to Lenny. I thought it was kind of just a funny name for him, in the tradition of Lonnie Tinkle or Loafers. Plus the b is right there next to the n on a keyboard.
That's part of our problem this year recruiting G5 talent to play in the sec will get your *** kicked. We need to be getting power 4 talent but between our staff short comings and nil short comings we are getting g5 leftovers or problem children or injury prone players
I’d say recruiting G5 without really good talent evaluators will get your arse kicked. Some programs get good players out of there that do very well at P4. obviously we can’t do that.

It's not like I'm wanting the whole roster. Cignetti brought 13 to Indiana from JMU, and it worked out, but of course that was his team and he knew them well.
Vandy only brought 5 from NM State. That's what I'm looking for. Fill some holes with some solid players.
It's just one rock we could be kicking. Doesn't seem like Lebby is hitting oil anywhere else.

Because they barely beat W Michigan, UL Monroe, Old Dominion, beat GA Southern by 1, and lost to Virginia Tech by 17. There can't be that much to choose from for us.
