I did not realize that. If that is the cases, that is probably the primary reason we do it.For one, we get credit for a “neutral” site game.
Very sad attendance tonight. I went to the game in Tupelo, and not much better. Weird that 3-4000 fans can’t show up.Fans don’t show up. More fans show up on campus from Jackson and Tupelo than they do when on site.
Really working out. University of Mississippi ranked above us somehow. For one, we get credit for a “neutral” site game.
And who gives a shıt about basketball rankings in December?Really working out. University of Mississippi ranked above us somehow.
Thanks for the random thoughtReally working out. University of Mississippi ranked above us somehow.
Neutral site games are the NET cheat code. Play close to home but not at home and get the benefit of winning a pseudo home game that counts as neutral site.I did not realize that. If that is the cases, that is probably the primary reason we do it.
Not even the same people staying in Jackson (or even Tupelo) for a game against Central Michigan evidently smart guy.Because Fall semester is over and the students are gone.
Who’s traveling from Jackson (or even Tupelo) to Starkville for a game against Central Michigan??
Thanks for the random thought
You’re welcome? Not random, not accidental. Deliberate. Thanks for the random thought
You tell me. Bit us last year. And who gives a shıt about basketball rankings in December?
Thank you for not thowing the race card. We know it was difficult.I was going to go until I saw the prices. Any ticket in the lower bowl was 35, 45, or 55.
The total for a pair of $10 tickets was $42 after all the bullcrap fees. No thanks.
I used to think they would get better attendance than Starkville in the OOC, but I’m obviously wrong about that. I really don’t understand it.Fans don’t show up. More fans show up on campus from Jackson and Tupelo than they do when on site.
Ranking don’t mean shít to the selection committee. You tell me. Bit us last year.
It’s not weird at all. Basketball now a days sucks. Every level. Even the NBA is losing popularity. In high school here In Mississippi, in a very short time, girls volleyball packs the stands out way more than basketball.Very sad attendance tonight. I went to the game in Tupelo, and not much better. Weird that 3-4000 fans can’t show up.
I used to go to the Jackson games. Part of it is that they usually get pretty close to holiday travel and the opponent always sucks
Really working out. University of Mississippi ranked above us somehow.
You have convenient lodging right outside the coliseum. ***Plus jackson is a great place to visit for the holidays.**
Is that a MS thing? Basketball up north is still very popular. It’s not weird at all. Basketball now a days sucks. Every level. Even the NBA is losing popularity. In high school here In Mississippi, in a very short time, girls volleyball packs the stands out way more than basketball.
Exactly. Jackson = Beirut.Plus jackson is a great place to visit for the holidays.**
College basketball seems to be doing fine. I don’t watch the NBA.It’s not weird at all. Basketball now a days sucks. Every level. Even the NBA is losing popularity. In high school here In Mississippi, in a very short time, girls volleyball packs the stands out way more than basketball.
Beirut? Y’all are trippingExactly. Jackson = Beirut.
Not sure that playing in front of 2500 people at Mississippi College (3,500) or the Mississippi Coliseum (6,500) is going to improve the optics on TV . Instead of viewers noting the small crowd they will add that MC is a small venue for a SEC team. Have you watched any of the regional basketball invitational tournaments on TV? They have one thing in common, really low attendance, so it's not just a State thing. We got to the arena about 6pm (6:30 tip off) and their were probably about 200 people in the stands. It filled out to 2500 by game time but not what you would want in your capitol city.I’d like to see us play the Jackson game at Mississippi College. Probably get similar or higher attendance in a much smaller venue which would look better on tv.
