Glad to see our dawgs finished 4th and had a strong showing. However... Jack. State was just flat out embarrassing. They finished last. Georgia was first at 41 under. Then, 25th place was Ole Miss with 19 Over... 26th Western Illinois with 23 over... Then, Jackson State rounds it out with a NINETY SIX OVER!!! Are you kidding? They finished 73 strokes behind the next to last team. I'm a gosh awful golfer but maybe I should have enrolled at JSU on a golf scholarship.

Jackson State dominates the SWAC in golf, and apparently won it again this year since they were in a regional. They usually have an all white team many of which never saw the campus until they enrolled. All they knew was that JSU was the one school they could get a golf scholarship at. I'm not sure if he still coaches them, but Eddie Payton (Walter's brother and a former Minnesota Viking) used to be their coach. He also used to umpire a lot of MSU baseball games back in the late 80s. You always knew when he was umpiring when you walked in the ball park because his Mercedes would be parked outside.</p>

When I was playing baseball for Millsaps, we were playing MC in Clinton. He was umpiring behind the plate when a foul ball bounced between the catcher's legs and hit hit him right in the nuts. He simply walked off the field, did a couple of leg squats behind the stands, walked back onto the field, and we resumed play.

their golf team might be all white. I say this because I know a white kid that plays baseball for Mississippi Valley, and the entire baseball team is white.
how their golf program is funded. I don`t think tax payer money should be spent on a total joke .
