Why is LSU even ranked #1 anyway?

Great question. They've played a hard schedule. That certainly has a part in it. Their stats too. I don't think there's any doubt they are top 5.
They have two of the top players in the country according to MLB scouts in Skenes and Brewer.
Record is pretty darn good based on the schedule.

After 2 games, I must say I am not overly impressed with their pitching and their hitting lineup is comparable to ours - if they are #1 we are right there with them.
I think we are right there with them....we simply started off the season further behind in the rankings. We are catching up as we have a very good team.
Based on what I have seen, the sky is the limit if we are playing well at the end of the season.
Getting McGillis and Hall healthy will important down the stretch. As many times as Casas has been HBP, I'm surprised he is not injured.

I don't really think they are either. Definitely not the dominant team media has made them out to be. Their pitching is weak, fielding has been pretty atrocious, and they have not been able to touch anything offspeed at the plate. Why we have even shown them any fastballs is beyond me.
LOL....completely understand that. But as long as it is "intentionally" unintential you can protect yourself a bit. "Unexpected" pitches inside are the ones you can really get hurt on.

I can see how they were #1. But now? We're 4 weekends into SEC play and they're 7-4. They aren't even the best team in the SEC.
