Why there are transfers at State under Stans

There wouldnt be any transfers if Stan recruiting pitch was this:

Here is the deal, I am going to bring in 8-10 guys, and based upon thier performance I am going to anoint one of them MSU's star player. I am going to run the offense through them. Also because I have limited practice time I am not going to focus on sophisticated offense or developing any of the other players offensive skills. Instead I am going to focus on defense and rebounding...unless you are the star player.
You have an equal chance of being the star player but if you are not the star player, I expect you to shut up and accept your role of playing defense, rebounding and team ball. Its my way or the highway, so I dont want to hear any whinning about why you have to play team ball but the team star doesnt. Yeah that means you wont develop any offensive skills while you are here, but we will 20 games a season most years and sometimes make the NCAA first weekend.
Oh, yeah and till you become an upperclassman I reserve the right to pull you anytime I want and give you minutes based upon you not making mistakes, hustling, practicing hard and playing defense.
If you dont like it go somewhere else, because its my way or the highway.

except I dont think thats Stans recruiting pitch....as someone said, classic case of overpromising and under delivering or more crudely...bait and switch.
If you come from a basketball savvy family like the Delks....or you just want to play ball somewhere under a different system...if you dont turn out to be the star player, you just might ride off into the sunset.</p>
