According to all the fanboys here, he was a turnstile and couldnt block anyone….

awesome for him and glad to see him overcome the abysmal coaching and scheme we had here.

very happy to see us get more OL in the NFL

Nice, but he was only in because about 30 other Colts OL were injured

True. But, pretty impressive he made an NFL roster. He was a message board whipping boy for years. Congrats to Will. McGovern starting for Dallas, Bates still with Buffalo? Menet on Packers practice squad

Really?? The Colts thought enough of him to keep him on the 53 all season!! The reason for that, he’s a good player. When he got called, he played pretty well
What more do you want??
That’s a fact. It’s nice he is on the roster but he isn’t making an impact as a regular starter for a reason, just like Bates for the Bills. Serviceable backups in an emergency.

If PSU players falter in the NFL, it’s Franklin’s fault. If PSU players do well in the NFL, it’s in spite of Franklin. We so know football.

Did they? He made the 53 man roster? Wow.

I say that because 6 offensive lineman were out. How many can they carry? 10? 12? I don’t know how many at each position teams carry.

saints reached out to drew Bree’s today to start tomorrow. Don’t think they are carrying him.

McGovern is no longer starting for Dallas. Nice to see Fries make an NFL roster, but how many OL got hurt before he played?

I don't think anybody here was meaning that Fries starting at LG yesterday meant anything in the grand scheme of how our OL will play NYD or all of '22. There are enough negative threads about our OL play. Does a positive one have to be bombed?

Why make it more complicated than it has to be? His dream was to play in the premier league of his sport and here he is living this dream.

Mc govern not starting in Dallas may say more about Dallas' O then his abilities.
Now Fries? he's on the 53 which is much different from the practice squad especially relative to PT and money. It doesn't matter how many got hurt before they put him in, they put him in , and while in, he played pretty well. How many others start on the OL as rookies? now next question, how many first year PSU grads are making $660,000 per year??

Will Fries signed a 4 year, $3,565,375 contract with the Indianapolis Colts, including a $85,375 signing bonus, $85,375 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $891,344. In 2021, Fries will earn a base salary of $660,000 and a signing bonus of $85,375, while carrying a cap hit of $681,343 and a dead cap value of $85,375.

Never said I wasn’t happy for Fries Just tired of the inevitable clownish PSU coaching criticisms.

Apparently the coaches because he was primarily a tackle
Edit: credit to trautwein for making the switch.
Limegrover had Fries at Guard all the way back to 2017. In fact, Fries made his first start at Guard against Georgia State that season. Injuries forced the staff to move Fries to Tackle. @s1uggo72

He started the final six games at guard. He made a total of one other start there along with 35 at tackle. He was basically a tackle until midway through his senior year.

Not being able to run block or pass protect against bottom feeder B10 teams then miraculously making NFL teams and in doing so looking much better than their best day at PSU, hmmm? Yes Franklin can be blamed for that along with with his offensive line coach flavor of the day.
