is that a new logo is in the works. Maybe for sports year after next. I saw one example - itt's hard to describe, but it was a profile of a modern bulldog - like nothing I've ever seen. I thought it looked sharp.

that we have not updated our graphic bulldog logo since the inception of the horrid walking bully. the logos that predate walking bully are far better looking.

If you just do a google images search for "bulldog" you'll find 15 logos better than what we have.

but I noticed that UK wore actual baseball uniforms last season. And there we were in our bell bottoms and nascar tops.

...at River Hills in response to a question something to the effect that we need to have a common recognizable logo, but also that the baseball logo had a lot of tradition itself and needed to be protected.

i am a big baseball logo fan. i think it could be used in all sports, a la UNC and many others. even if it's tweaked a little. it's got history, and it's recognizable. regardless of what the other sports do, it needs to stay on the baseball hats.

Maybe but I think it needs to stay as just the baseball logo. It's my one of my favorites but I think it should stay with baseball. I was hoping that they would get someone to draw up a new bulldog logo and it sounds like they might have.

I don't know if this is true (but I'll be happy to repeat it anyway...), but I've been told by a couple of people that the "Walking Bully" logo was designed by LT and some other guy when LT was a low-level employee of the SID's office. LT's name was put on the trademark license and he gets a royalty off the use of the logo. That's why we've continued to use it all these years. I know it sounds far-fetched... well, it would at anywhere but MSU. Go Dogs!

I think the more traditional uniform is the plain white with the baseball MS.

during the Patty Mac era.

I really wouldn't mind one throwback jersey to the Clark/Palmeiro days. The one with the huge "S" on it.

They were the only white uniform worn during the McMahon era (the road grays looked great during that time too). I wouldn't mind something like the old Clark/Palmeiro uniforms, but they'd have to be updated. For one thing, pullover baseball shirts look like **** and the numbers and letters were in a strange font.

just look at the CW Depot...its engrained in the concrete, running alongside of the facade and on the face of the clock.

It will be around a while. The key is protecting the baseball logo and getting a nice graphic logo to market.

of the imagination. It just doesn't look good in certain places like the helmet or anywhere near DNF-DS.

I think it looks great other places like at midcourt and I really don't mind it on the Depot.

it needs to be much smaller. Make it white and the helmets maroon. It wouldn't be so bad then. It just looks weird being that big on the helmet. I do like the basball logo on the football helmet though...looks better than the MState.

it's a personal preference issue. I don't begrudge anyone else liking the damn thing, even if I think it looks like ****. For me, the hatred of M banner is rooted in the notion of "the mediocrity for which it stands, one institution, under LT, with ****** football and ****** martketing for ever."

Again, this is just a personal preference for me. I PREFER that Byrne introduce a new logo for football only. I, like you, don't have a problem with m banner for basketball. And we agree wholeheartedly that m banner has no place at Dudy Noble.

I personally dont mind the M-banner as a picture, poster, banner, or flag type display. But, as a logo for a uniform I think it looks awful. On the helmets it is curved over because of the shape of the helmet and ends up looking like a flower if you sit anywhere above row 15. I even like it on the basketball floor, its big and its bold. I comepletly love the MS baseball logo but dont really like it on a football helmet. for me, to date, the best thing we had going for the football helmet was the diagonal MSU. And Ive often heard that we need ONE recognizable symbol, but I have always thought it was pretty unique that we had three different logos for the three main sports. Anyway, who knows!

Was on the 50 yard line at Scott Field where Jackie had us kicking *** on a regular basis. So I don't mind it. Its grown on me.

But it does suck on the side of a football helmet. Might we get used to that to? As evidence that we could, I submit to you LSU's football helmet. It is ugly as sin.

There's an uninspiring picture of a tiger and plain jane font for LSU. Yet nobody looks at LSU and says damn that's an ugly helmet.

Be that as it may, I'm not sure we should keep the M State helmet on the grounds that "we might get used to it". Let's pick something that looks good. Frankly, I want the interlocking MSU back. Short of that, I stick to my Jacksonville Jags turned bulldog idea.

... doesn't mean the baseball logo will go. UA, OM, LSU, UF etc. all have different official logos than what is on their baseball cap and football helmet. The MS is a traditional baseball logo. It will stay on the cap.

In response to other posts in this thread......I say, as long as we got the white helmets, the M-State logo needs to be bigger. That way you have more maroon on the helmet and can see the thing from 30 rows away. It needs to be the size of Marshall's M.

Although I like the MState logo, I would like to have the cascading MSU back for football (with the maroon helmet) and leave MState for basketball. I liked the fact we seemed to have three logos for the big 3.

the interlocking MS baseball logo would have been gone a few years ago. Polk fought him on that and won. Templeton's idea was that we had to have the same logo for everything to make us more recognizable. Of course, as you point out, that's not true and virtually no other school uses the same logo for everything. I personally liked it when we had different logos for football, basketball, and baseball. There's nothing wrong with the M-State logo in its place. But it's place isn't anywhere near the baseball or football fields.

The Walking Dog is AMAZING...I would like to see something different on the football helmet but the mstate banner looks great on the 50 and center court. I would like to see a new helmet or like someone said earlier the interlocking MSU

I think LSU has a great helmet. Also, a few years back, LT had a Maroon helmet in his office with the M-State logo on it (exactly like our current helmet, but maroon) and I thought it looked badass. But Croom likes the white hats for whatever reason.

I'm fine with M-State logo being used wherever they want to put it. Just keep it away from the baseball unis and take it off the helmet. I hope our contract with Russell is about to expire. What a Mickey Mouse company.

we go back to the old school helmets that simply say STATE in white with the outside being white. I agree with holdembulldogs, the Jags helmet is a good NFL helmet but college helmets are traditionally more simple in design.
