Next up: SEC vs. Big Ten for the biggest fish in the pond -- Notre Dame
The SEC added Texas and Oklahoma. The Big Ten countered with USC and UCLA. Now, all eyes turn to Notre Dame.

When ND goes, the B!G is the most obvious choice.
UF will most likely try to quash this from happening, whether they would be successful or not is another matter.ND, Miami, Fla St, and Clemson would be the obvious move for SEC and maybe Va Tech and NC St
Agree....that's where the majority of their fanbase is and with the addition of SoCal and UCLA it adds to some of NDs old rivalries being in that conference. When ND goes, the B!G is the most obvious choice.
Tennessee,South Carolina,Georgia should squash this move as well.UF will most likely try to quash this from happening, whether they would be successful or not is another matter.
Yes from way, way back. I believe a President of one of the B1G Universities (Indiana/Purdue maybe?) pretty much blackballed them because it was a Catholic school.Isn't there some long time acrimony between ND and B1G?

If you subscribe to the theory that this conference expansion is being pushed by the 2 TV power brokers Fox vs ESPN, then here is something to ponder.
Both Finebaum and Kirk Herbstreet, faces for ESPN, declared the SEC should pick up Miami. Hmm.
Just playing Devils Advocate, the ACC Media Rights contract would make it financial suicide for one school to leave on its own. However,WADR, and basically JMHO, Not gonna happen...
"Which means basically if you don’t understand what we are talking about that if school X of the ACC decided that hey I am going to go join the SEC or the Big Ten or whatever I am out of here. Your media rights between now and 2035-36 belong in the Atlantic Coast Conference. So all of the money that you are making with that guy over there the league (ACC) keeps,” said Packer."
Packer on the 'trillion dollar question' for the ACC...
That article is from the clemons insider. I refuse to link it here, so Google it if you wish.
The bottom line is simply that The SEC & the Big10 are pretty much calling the plays from here on out. Will/can things change where as certain schools can part ways with certain conferences so as to join other conferences?? I guess we'll see what we'll see as attorneys "get involved" in figuring out what's "agreeably" next.
I think that's questionable. If you subscribe to the theory that this conference expansion is being pushed by the 2 TV power brokers Fox vs ESPN, then here is something to ponder.

It could turn into a waiting game, just as it has with Texas and Oklahoma. On that score, if the expanded Big 10 is going to be ready to go in 2024, then the SEC needs to move to get its new teams playing in 2024 as well.Just playing Devils Advocate, the ACC Media Rights contract would make it financial suicide for one school to leave on its own. However,
if several schools decide to leave (3-4), then one could assume that caveat changes things considerably. In addition I think it's safe to assume
that every school in the conference has their crack team of lawyers going through that contract line by line looking to find the loophole.
At this point it's anyones guess what happens next.
At this point there isn't much I'm discounting.I think that's questionable.
