Recently I was on a flght to San Francisco. I had my Gamecock sweatshirt on. The guy sitting next to me told me he was a Tennessee season ticket holder. We talked about the season that Tennessee had and the year
that Hendon Hooker had especially the Alabama game. Then we got to the South Carolina game. He said "man" I was told about the night games at Williams Brice Stadium. He said a friend told him UT better be careful
because I don't know what it is but that stadium at night is like all the players who have played there were there in spirt along with their fans. He said "man if they get it going with that sandstorm" you better watch out
because that atmosphere in that stadium is unbelievable. He said he had so many UT friends and fans who told him they were going to lay 70 on USC. Well needless to say before the night was over USC came within
7 of laying 70 on UT. He said other than the outcome of the game the atmosphere at Williams Brice Stadium is the most insane atmosphere that he has ever witnessed. There have been calls in Tennessee to hope and pray that when UT plays USC in Columbia again that the game will be played at noon or at 3. He went on to say that he had so many UT friends who had already booked hotels for the CFP. Of course you know how that ended up. Then we went on to talk about Clemson. He said well not sure Carolina can have a repeat performance. Then he said he and some of his UT friends were at a sports bar in Knoxville watching the USC - Clemson game. Then he said "I be damned if they didn't do it again". Those last two games Carolina played Spencer Rattler played like Joe Montana and the Heisman trophy candidate that we were looking for all year long. This guy was
really complimentary of the USC fans and Williams Brice Stadium. Lastly he told me that game and the Clemson game were games that a lot of people would never forget, that they would go down in USC football history because noone gave them a chance from the bookies to a lot of fans. Like Paul Harvey would say "you know the rest of the story"
