Wisconsin hiring Luke Fickell. I really think the only bad thing about this is they’ll have to fight off Ohio State in 3-4 years as I’m not sure Ryan Day is going to keep up with Harbaugh at Michigan.

Great fit for him and Wisconsin. They’ll be a solid team in 2-3 years.

I really think Ole Miss is getting a better coach in Hugh Freeze than they would’ve with Lane Kiffin. Nothing against Kiffin. He’s done fine at Ole Miss. But High Freeze could do great at Auburn.

Will be interesting to see where Deion lands. I’m surprised he hasn’t accepted that Colorado offer yet, which leads me to believe he might end up at USF or FAU.

Fickell will be good. Day will be fine at TOSU....has almost a whole new defensive staff this year led by DC Jeff Knowles. He evidently has had several WTF gameplans in his first year (including yesterday) that makes me wonder how long his tenure at TOSU may be. Day didn't look happy yesterday when the defense was on the field.

Yeah, I would anticipate Day being fine. But if Wisconsin can improve and Michigan keeps tending upward…he might start feeling some pressure. Losing to Michigan isn’t going to sit well over time.

No, you are right, it will not....as John Cooper found out despite averaging 10 wins a season.

I think Deion was probably holding out to see if the FSU job opens up, but it won’t for a few years at least

Yeah, Deion is figuring out that he’s going to have to take a step up from JSU to get a big time P5 job. Colorado isn’t one right now, and will be even worse when So Cal and UCLA leave for the B10. I’d say his next job is just a step to the job he hopes to get someday. FAU might be the best spot for him. Talent rich Miami and right where he would thrive in recruiting. And you can win there fast as Kiffin showed. I even wonder if this is why FAU fired Taggart so fast. It wasn’t like they were absolutely horrible. There have been far worse records last more than 3 years than that. I’m sure they hope to get Deion.

Deon was one great football player in college and the NFL. Winning at Jackson State is a lot easier than a power 5 school. Hopefully Colorado gives him a chance then we will see if he is ready for big time football. Only time will tell.

I can't imagine Day is viewed with anything but a jaundiced eye after two straight years of throttling at the hands of the opponent he absolutely has to beat. Throttling. He won't stay long if he can't fix that soon. They won't be as patient with him, who did not build the program anyway, as Michigan was with one of their own. His seat groweth warm; I've viewed the message boards. He'll soon be in Earl Bruce/John Cooper territory if he doesn't get back to beating that school up north.

I'm sure the OSU fans are antsy. They've mostly owned the series for 2 decades. From 2001-2019, they only lost 2x to UM, so losing two in a row has gotta sting. But OSU stuck with Cooper for 13 years, even though he only beat UM 2x in that span.
