With all the injuries with Yardcocks, wondering why we haven't played

Ethan Petry at 3B ? Also has a 91 MPH fastball as a pitcher.

Ethan Petry is a 2022 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Land O Lakes, FL who attends Cypress Creek. Tall and strong build with long arms and legs and plenty of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight spread stance with a gradual well timed load, gets into his slot early and hits from behind the ball, big extension through contact and is on plane for a long time, outstanding raw bat speed with elite level raw power, can hit them as high and far as anyone in the 2022 class. Has run down to 6.76 at past PG events in the sixty. Corner infielder on defense, has plenty of arm strength and carry from a compact arm action to play third, defensive ceiling will be determined by how much he develops his lower half quickness as he physically matures. Bat is his tool. Excellent student, signed with South Carolina. Named to the World Showcase Top Prospect List.

Good question Preston, I would assume he's been given a look and we just feel better with the way we have gone. I wouldn't think we want to clutter his mind with fielding and mess up his bat!

Agree, I was thinking in terms of getting another OF bat and more speed in the outfield in the line up.
But I have to say Messina has handled 3B quite well and French has picked up his bat contribution.
I still think Messina makes us better defensively when he is behind the plate.

Please, no more injuries. Anybody know the status of McGillis, Wimmer, and LeCroy? LeCroy looked miles away from healthy when he batted last weekend.

It may just be a matter of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" type situations. He's solid in right field and hitting so well, they don't want to give him anything extra to think about. Hed certainly be another infield option though.

Who comes to mind when you reference "OF bat?" We may need to get creative in order to get Messina back behind the plate.

I guess Brewer, Denny and Hornung in the OF and Petry at 3B to get Messina back behind the plate where he belongs. French would be the DH and the infield would continue to be makeshift until McGillis, LeCroy and Wimmer return.

Wow! We have only two other players that are listed as infielders on the roster......Veach and Madden. Also, no other catchers listed should French go down. We are hurting worse than I realized.
