In this day of ESPN and the internets, I find a nighly 3-minute sports broadcast, most of it a rehash of old news, utterly pointless.

we love to go to sporting events and see the local news people. They're almost like friends, even though they don't know who we are. Like Rob Jay.

My life is certainly enriched by a man hitting on high school cheerleaders and making fun of Maggie Wade.

And what would Sunday nights in the fall be like without Sports Journal? You always get to see if your team made the helmet cam after a big win, you get to hear their opinions on the in state teams, their ridiculous predictions, and then they finish the show with some hapless Valley WR getting laid out by a train car. </p>

.....that isn't blurry. I don't know if it's WJTV that's the problem or not, but I've yet to enjoy a crystal clear HD picture with an NFL or college football game in the Fall. I don't have that problem with other networks.

To hell with a sports segment on WJTV though. I never watch their local news anyway. WLBT may have the oldest equipment in America, but they're the ones I watch because of their neighborly personality. WAPT anchors are mostly just a bunch of cold, left-wing Yankees.
